Tara laughed and craned her neck to look at her new little friend. "Wicked means fun sometimes Nixxie. It's another way to say fun."
She trotted over to a lake and sat down. "Want to go for a swim? I can teach you how if you don't know."

"Wicked means fun?" Nixxie's eyes were as big as saucers as she stuffed this word back into her head. Wow! What a great new thing to learn! She lived in a place where everything was so straight-forward, she had never thought of words having two meanings.
She ducked her head at the mention of swimming, "That is wicked. Bad fun!" She said this with all certainty.

"Swimming can be fun. I promise to watch you carefully and make sure you don't sink or anything." She gently brushed Nixxie's head with her paw in a playful, yet kind way.
"You can trust me sweetie."

Nixxie ducked very low to the ground as the paw came over her head, not in fear, but in an instinctual way. Amusement did light up as she turned to bat at the air it had occupied a second ago.
She turned her head around to look at Tara, "Uhm...you go first. I'll warn you if it starts to eat you."

She chuckled and padded over to the water's edge. "Alright. I'll go in first. If it eats me, you can hit it with a stick until it spits me out."
A few more steps and she was in to about mid thigh. She stopped and pulled her shirt, wrist bands, and pants, laying them on a rock. She left her necklace on, then dunked beneath the water.
Finally surfacing, she smiled back over at Nixxie. "Come on in. The water's great!"

She had taken off pieces of herself.
Apparently unnoticed by Tara, Nixxie padded her way to the pile of clothing. She used bits of wood to keep most of herself out of the water, but for wet little paws.
She batted at the clothes, then nudged them with her nose.
By the time Tara had come up--Nixxie had proven she was indeed a feline cub and already entangled herself in the clothes.
She jumped out, wrist band somehow over her eyes, and dunked herself right into the water.
D= !! Flail!!

Tara snorted, then burst out in laughter as she saw the little cub ensnared in her clothes. That had to be the cutest yet funniest thing she'd seen since she got here.
Her eyes flew open as the cub jumped into the water. She quickly swam over and lifted her out, then pulled her clothing off of the cub and put it back up on the rock. Gently she nudged Nixxie with her nose, checking to make sure she was alright. "Poor baby...are you alright?"

At first, Nixxie gasped for air in fright, clinging to Tara as if the whole world was about to end.
Then she started in a fit of giggles. "Whoooaa! Haha--hee---That was scary, and fun!" Her ears were still laid back, her claws still dug into Tara, and she looked like a sunken sea rat, but her eyes were lit up with the new experience.

Tara held the scared infant close to her, wincing with the little claws digging into her.
"It was! You are just adorable Nixxie." She grinned, pulling any clothes tangled to her off, putting them back up on the cliff to dry out. "How does the water feel?"

"I don't liiiike it..." Nixxie giggled, wiggling herself around. Her words came out longer as she tried not to chatter. She waved a paw toward the shore. "Going ruuunnning....Dry is good!"

Tara laughed, nodding as Nixxie made it known she wanted out of the water. She lifted the infant to dry land, then got out herself and shook what water she could off.
"My clothes will dry on their own. Let's go run."
