I've had my suggies for about two weeks. I know it takes a while for them to get used to you (they are used to my voice now). But I'm impatient with things like this. I have no where else to keep them so they're in my room, unfortunately keeping me up at night when I have morning classes. I'm starting to have doubts, I've done my research on them but something just isn't feeling right. My mom seems to like them more than I do. I feel like I'm being a horrible person but I haven't had a decent nights sleep and I always worry about them when I'm not home (which is alot). I know you have to dedicate lots of time for them but I'm realizing too late that I don't have much time to give them. I live in Ohio and I was looking at adoption places that might take them in. Like I said before I feel horrible and I feel like I'm giving in too soon. I just don't know what to do.

You are not a horrible person. For one thing, gliders are really a hard pet! Some can take MONTHS to bond and that can be really frustrating! Do NOT feel bad for feeling overwhelmed. Exotics aren't like a cat or a dog. They are sorta like a pet and an INTENSE hobby and a research project all rolled into one.
BUT, you get OUT of them what you put into them. They are AMAZING animals to have tamed. You have, really, this WILD thing that LOVES you. And they DO. They look at you like you are mama. You are their everything.
Remember, when you are feeling discouraged, that you are, in essense plaing with a wild thing. There is no big difference between YOUR gliders and their cousins in the rainforests of Australia's Tasmania. It's not like a dog and a wolf. Yours and those are the same. So the fact that it takes a while for them to get to adore you is not shocking.
Don't give up. They are worth it, if you are willing to put in the work. But it is true, they are NOT for the impatient. Some bond quick. Some take a long time. Look up some videos on YouTube like Suzie and Sutton. That guy has some REALLY bonded babies. Just to give you some hope of how amazing it CAN be! wink
