The Animal Pledge

The Animal Pledge (which will now be referred to as AP) is a method to meet your goals questing on Gaia. By making the pledge that you will not change your avatar and instead remain in a single-pose item (item information can be found below) the hope is that you'll lose the desire to buy items since you could not try them on your avatar. It's a way you can force yourself to save your gold for the big quests.

You decide what you're going to pledge for, and then you submit yourself to be listed as a pledger. Then you create a thread all about your pledge inside this guild, where you can chat and keep your progress updated. Once you've reached your goal you can then submit yourself for recognition. It's pretty simple.

We use this guild to stay organized and keep track of everything, however the actual chatting takes place inside our chatterbox thread where you can win gold in our bumping competition.

Pledge Guidelines

While the pledge is pretty much you deciding to go for something, we do have some guidelines that we require you to follow if you want to actually participate and be a part of The Animal Pledge.

Avatars must be single-item non-human forms.
This means you can't just go naked, you need to wear something like an "I am" pose. Something that changes the way your avatar looks, so you don't look human. If you're unsure, ask, or check out the list.
If you don't have anything, you can always use the You are a Cow item, which is cheap. If you can't afford one just ask and one of us will donate you one to participate in.
- Hermes Moon -> Your are Mochi and You are Rabbit.
- Summoning Tome -> Backfired Spell - Frog and Backfired Spell - Toad.
- Little Black Bat -> Vampire Bat.
- Hard Shell Pack -> Defense and Defense Spike.
- Orindae -> Oh sweet mother of - and Improved Oh sweet mother of -,.
- White Drom Egg -> i am drome.
- Grunny -> You are Grunny.
- Wonderland -> Cheshire Cat's Grin.
- Black Ops Gear -> Stealthy Cardboard Box.
- Longcat Scarf -> longme and emgnol
- Pantheracorax Agate -> i am griffon
- Assassins Guise -> Assassin's Eye
This is just a list of suggestions, there are many other suitable items. If in doubt, ask!
You cannot violate Gaia ToS in conjunction with this guild.
This just means don't go doing things that'd get us in trouble. Don't spam our banner, don't bug people for donations, don't post porn here. All those little no-nos.
Only pledge if you're going to stick to it.
If you decide to change your avatar, I'm sorry but you've lost the game. This is for people who really want their quest item, so you're going to have to be strong through the times when Gaia brings out fancy new items. Save your gold!

These are simple guidelines, but violating them does mean you are removed from the pledge list, losing (if any) benefits there might be.

I gotta participate!

Yay! You really want in? Here are the steps you need to follow.

Decide what avatar you're going to wear and change into it.
Create a quest thread in this guild (look at the example below). (If you have a quest thread elsewhere on Gaia you can use this instead, as long as you include the information specified below).
Fill out the form below and post it in the request thread.

That's it. Then one of the crew will update the pledge list with your details in it.

The actual pledge listing has changed, instead of listing each individual quest in one thread we're now going to list the actual avatars which will link to your particular guild quest thread.

For your avatar, visit the avatar export page and copy the "URL - For E-mail and Website code" code.

When creating your quest thread make sure to outline your goal and what animal you're sticking to to make it clear.

You can put whatever else you want in it and can format it however you want.
