Anyone here write poetry? Are you a poet and don't know it? Do you like to rhyme all the time? Then post here!
I have a poem that I just wrote yesterday that I would like to share. It's for my boyfriend, Cervantas.
You're something special to me You bring out all I'm supposed to be When I'm with you, everything just comes together Maybe this will last forever? This happiness? This love? This feeling of soaring like a dove I know we can't see the future So let's give this a chance Just take my hand, let's try this dance I love you, baby, I truly do I hope you can make all my dreams come true

I love writing poetry, but I hate reading it in front of people (I get so emotional in my poems, and I either burst out laughing or crying).
However, this is the internet, so I feel no shame.
In real life, I am a cheery person, but my poems usually reveal a dark side of me that no one really knows.
... this isn't a really dark poem though. It's not even a good one.
I had to do an English assignment where I had to write a poem but incorporate some lines from Hamlet into the poem. This is the utterly crappy result...
*Shakespeare's lines will be italicized.
Death Row
We all know what I did. You say I must pay for my sins, But is revenge worth your soul?
Hang me, poison me, cut off my head, Nothing will remove me from your memory.
To end the life of one who ended a life, does it really make sense? You will continue to suffer even after I depart, Unless you learn the truth. My truth.
You claim that what I did was horrible, a sin, but in reality There is nothing either good or bad - but thinking makes it so. What I did changed your world, but you do not see I made your existence worthwhile.
I made you question your faith. I made you act and react. I made you think about why we live and die. I made you who you are now.
Remove my shackles, I am not resisting the call. I recognize my fate. All that lives must die, Passing through nature to eternity.
I know my truth, do you know yours?

I wrote this a while back/recently.
You know me well enough to know that whatever I show you nobody else will see. I've grown to embrace your warm glow instead of the cold that I've surrounded myself with for so long. You've given me this peice of you to hold onto, and I need you to know that I always hold it close to me as tightly as possible. You have seen me at my best and my absolute worst, so let me be the first to tell you- as I fall to my knees with warm tears streaming down my cheeks- that you are my world and you are all I will ever need and you are the number one thing worth saving, and I'd give anything to keep things this way. So please remember. Remember everything.
Please remember all of the secrets I kept with you, remember me as the one who never left you broken and lifeless. When you open your eyes I want to be the first thing you see. I want you to know that I will remember you as someone I hold so dear to me. I've seen how deeply you care for me and it's something I could never forget, and for this I don't fear anything and I know there is nothing more to regret in this lifetime. Baby, will you remember me as the one who would whisper sweetly to you in the dark? Will you remember me as forever yours? In case I haven't told you before, and I am sure that I have, I want to tell you that I will forever adore you. Please remember all of the things we have accomplished together and did I ever tell you that. . you gave this Angel his wings? FIN. Copyright (C) 2009 A. Ramirez

This a poem that I made up, it won't make much sense too people because it is based on a story that I created biggrin It's about Dark Elves
"Beneath the ancient Borunites, in Agdor do we dwell, living our lives in perpetual twilight, some they call it hell, none do dare enter, for they know the stories well, for those who enter Agdor, had best have said their farewell’s "

There's a certain way that the world is supposed to be, but I'm currently not seeing it. I'm supposed to be in a certain realm at a certain time. What is supposed to be so clear is a complete blur, because you see my heart is burning. The world is turning in the opposite direction. What is a person in my positon to do? And so as I'm laying here, I'm in constant fear. I'm in a constant state of flux, and there's a voice in my head telling me "You're so ********." There's a laughter in the air because I know not where I am, only I know I'm supposed to be somewhere else. Supposed to be above and beyond. Let me see. My heart is burning. I can feel my existance fading- fading along with my sense of awareness. I'm not aware. Only I'm there but I'm so numb, and for some this is so completely fun. So decievingly divine. I could tell you that I'm fine but even I'm not sure. The inside of my neck burns, and as I breathe it gets worse. "My friend, you are ******** (c) 2009 A. Ramirez

Your poem is very lovely. I could get all the feelings from it. I've been there. With the confusion and not knowing where to go and such like that. Wonderful job.
This poem I wrote is called, "If You Ask Me."
If you ask me were there feelings? I’ll say they were always If you ask me if he needs me The answer is maybe
Only he knows that answer, as you can see
If you ask me does he make my heart pound? I’ll say, “Listen for yourself.” If you ask me what I need I need my good health
For he makes me feel weak
If you ask me is he a friend I’ll say “yes, but something more.” If you ask me is he cute? He’s someone I adore
I can’t get him off my mind
If you ask me do I like him? Just take a clue If you ask me I need him The answer is I do
If you ask me if I care I’ll give you a stare I’ll always have him He will always be there
He makes me smile My life means much more; while… Does he know? If you ask me that I’ll say he does

I can word a mean rhyme when given time. whee Though the poem lack the flash, I don't do morbid dance. Take a look and read along. And please comment on my poem song. *Note it is not really song. Plus I don't have a title for this yet.* *********~~~~~~~~******** Untitled
I sat in the back Observing The rhythm, lies, and stories
I stood in the dark Listening Silent depressing, aching heart, and loud eyes
I danced on the stage Telling Brilliant Sunshine, quite nights, and open hunger
I walked the fenced road Smelling Known wonders, tragic heroes, and quite bees
I laid down in sorrowful light Sensing Blinding colours, noiseless thunder, and endless paths
I dropped into the ground Knowing Empathy

i just started to write poems...but im not soo good, my first poem sucks, oh well, id like u ppl to give me a critic so here it is my first poem.
cover my eyes, i just want to dream. cover my eyes, i want to live in darkness. if you cover my eyes, i will feel you, cause you are pure darkness.
i want to dream about you, i want to live in you, and feel you sorrounding my body in a lovely hug of darkness, feel the coldness of your lips and the warmth of your heart.
i want you to cover my eyes, kiss me when i cant see, make me feel inmortal, drinking of the life that your body emanate.
cover my eyes, let me feel you, let me love you.
