I was wondering what other people thought about vampire knight, and why they like it? I like it because of the character the story line, and many other reasons, but why do you like vampire knight.

Definitely for me it is the Plot line.
Im a political thriller whore and this story takes politics to a whole new level, this isnt your typical two nations on the brink of war story.....
this is the world at risk of war.... between 2 races... one of which would have the upper hand almost instantaneously due to ignorance of the others' existence.
What I love is the brilliant twists with the decieved and decieving vampire council. The fact that these upper class leaders actually believed in Rido's whacked out vision of Vampire dominion on the world. And were able to buy the hunter's association with the promise of a vial of thier leader's blood for said immortality. Is freaking genius and mind blowing as such a treaty has clearly never been thought of before.
and then the other half of the story ..... the secret of the hidden heir, princess Yuuki and her brother's valiant efforts to make sure her Identity and knowlege of her existance, stays hidden from the board's eyes.
Not only that but that brother turns out to be the very first king established to rule thier race, revived and placed into the young heir's body so than it forfits the boy from being eligeble lawfully to inherit the thronem and secondly... it enforces him to watch all the laws he had established back then become slowly undone nearly 10,000 years by his own Family member.
This manga / anime is a Political treasure and Twighlight and Tom Clancy for that matter, cannot even compare, this is a Fantastically brilliantly written lot and I cannot wait to see how it unfolds

Well, I like Vampire Knight because the characters are well thought out, the art is detailed and lavished with attention but not overdone, there's a good balance of humour, action, angst, romance and plot. It's halfway between plot driven and character driven...the overall feel is really cool.
Just by reading one page you can tell how much thought and effort Hino-sensei put into it.

It's a great story line, with awesome characters. Matsuri Hino's artwork is beautiful, i love her art style, and Vampire Knight is my favorite of her work.
