I didn't know if anyone else had heard about this but:

Quote:
Although no longer a secret, considering that the Trigun animated movie was first announced a couple of years ago (but we'll play dumb, since we weren't around the webs back then), the first details about it appeared just now on the cover of volume 14 of the Trigun Maximum manga (thanks Heisei Democracy). For starters, here are some of the names working on this Trigun movie, as scribbled by HD.

"It will feature an original story developed by manga author Yasuhiro Nightow and director Nishimura Satoshi who collaborated with Nightow on the Trigun TV series and is also known for his work on the Hajime no Ippo anime. The script will be helmed by veteran anime writer Kobayashi Yasuko, with character designs from Yoshimura Takahiro."

Trigun The Movie is being animated by Madhouse (who also created the Trigun anime from... oh, about ten years ago), and it should see the light of the silver screen at some point in 2009, driven by the tagline "Vash vs. Wolfwood?! The familiar characters erupt on screen in an all-original Trigun story!". *Yawn*

Yeah we know. In fact, I made a thread about it. It's about the issue of Geneon going out of business, and what would happen about the dubbing of the movie once it comes to the states.

And hell yeah would I see the movie! I can't wait! Hopefully the movie will renew interest in Trigun among Japanese people, and they'll make MADs for it on Nicovideo... Or maybe some Vocaloid songs!

And if, when the movie crosses the Pacific, if it is released in theaters, hell yeah I'd go! I might be able to meet fellow Trigun fans in my area! Either that or I'll be the only person there... emo Or I'll be the only fan among a bunch of clueless people who only went to see it just because, and I'd look like a huge nerd, wearing every kind of Trigun apparel possible, and I'll act loud and obnoxious, and make silly comments the entire time, making everyone leave, so... I'll be the only person there... emo

*sigh* From what I read, the movie will be straight to DVD, (It might just mean for America, but it's most likely meaning Japan since it hasn't even been released yet), therefore it won't get as much publicity, meaning... No MADs or Vocaloid songs on Nico Nico... crying

But a new series is being hinted at... That could mean wonderful things!

I just found a second source to this info.

I am sort of shocked by this since I didn't think there could be an alternate ending with the series, but knowing how the Japanese story lines go, it might be more like the Cowboy Bebop movie was, a story in between the story.

That's how it was with the Cowboy Bebop movie. The article says it will be released in 2009 in Japan, not America, they will after ward need the voice overs to get their butt working on the English to have it released in America, and Trigun is only so popular that I'm not surprised that it would not his screen. It probably won't hit America til after or even 2010.

I wonder when we will hear more about it ._. So far I can't find any information on it except for the announcement that it's coming and a few very vague storyboards.

Still no updates on the movie. If it gets a theatrical release in the States, it will probably hit the same theaters that played "Cowboy BeBop" and "Mononoke Hime" ... small art-house/independents. Major cities will get it on 1-2 screens, and everyone else will have to wait for DVD.

I saw "Akira" in the theater in 1986 or so, back when anime was totally underground in the US.
