Home again. Or almost home. C’ren wouldn’t feel completely relaxed until he and Ceylith were in the privacy of their weyr, but they were almost there. “Yes. I know she’s amazing.” He patiently waited for the boy to get off the dragon, but, apparently, that wasn’t going to happen without prompting. Ugh… did he have to do everything around here?
Ceylith snorted and shook her leg a little, trying to get the boy’s attention once more. Like her rider, she wasn’t one for close contact unless she was the one who initiated it. In this case, riding didn’t really count. Mathyn didn’t weigh much or anything, but… well, it was still odd. “Go on. Get down. You’re making Ceylith anxious.” And himself too, C’ren had to admit. The clinging thing would never sit well with him. He pointed towards a specific cave carved out into the rock of the Weyr, saying, “You should go in there. There should be someone there who will help you. Tell them your name, your Hold, and that Ceylith Searched you. You’ll be trained as a Candidate. A lot of grunt work, mostly.” But, if one was very, very lucky, it was all worth it. C’ren patted Ceylith’s neck affectionately and the Green let out a little croon. It could be worth it.

Mathyn scrambled down the side of the dragon reluctantly, still feeling very foolish. At least he had the right answers for the person waiting, he could remember his name, hold, and he would never be able to forget the green dragon that helped him make his way here.
"Sorry," Mathyn pulled his shoulders back and looked up at C'ren, "Thank you, I did not mean to make her anxious." He wanted to say he'd never forget the gruff greenrider, but he did not know how that would go over, he probably searched hundreds over the years.
"I'll be going now?" he questioned eyes focusing past C'ren and to the person he assumed was waiting.

For all of his gruff demeanor, C’ren usually did make a half-hearted effort to keep track of ‘his’ Candidates. It was mostly at Ceylith’s insistence, of course, and he did try to keep the Green happy. She was just so much more pleasant when she was happy… that and he truly did love her. If Mathyn was very, very lucky, perhaps he’d one day forge a similar bond with a dragon. Perhaps… Ceylith had a fairly good record so far, so it seemed perfectly possible.
“Good. Ceylith says ‘you’re welcome’. She also wishes you good luck in finding your dragon. And she hopes that he or she can find you too.” And then that was it. He simply waited, watching to make sure Mathyn didn’t fall down on his way in or anything. You know, just in case.

"Thank you, again," golly, Mathyn was heading into his millionth round of thank yous, bound and determined to make the moment as awkward as possible. "I hope I find them as well!" He ran off towards the person waiting for his information, rather unceremoniously, his youthful excitement getting the better of him. Mathyn hoped that being Searched would make his life better, and knew that it would, at least he was away from the healer hall, now that was a change of pace!
Life would be different, the boy had much to learn and he was going to take that as a personal challenge, learn as much as possible and stop embarrassing himself foolishly in front of the weyrfolk.
