Yes, people feel ready to come out at different times.

Some people hide it for years and I think it's best to be open with others for your own sake and sanity you know what I mean? Did you want to hide it or did you just not say anything? Not exactly something to announce during dinner right?

My closest friends know that I'm bi...but my family doesn't. I'm scared to tell them. :c

It's normal to feel this way. Personally, I've know all my life that I wasn't "normal" I could never pin-point it but I knew it had to do with me liking guys. (What I mean as pin-point is the word "gay.") I fianlly started to come out to my friends about two almost three years ago now. It wasn't easy and it was just a handful of people, because I was scared people would see me differently and stuff. Then about two almost three years now -I know the date- I finally told my parents alone and personally. Hardest thing I've ever had to do and I'll never forget that day. My advice is if you're going to come out then be sure that you'll be safe. Protecting yourself is the most important because us as individuals have to go through the struggle alone within ourselves and outside influence isn't always the greatest. I hope that my ramble helps a little bit.

I told my friends last year and now basically the whole school knows so its ok for me. I hid it from my friends for 3 years and am still hiding it from my family im afraid I'll have a heart attack if I tell them.
