The Rules
- Absolutely no chat speak (Examples include, but are not limited to ppl, u, gr8, etc.). This is a forum for literate role-players. Spelling out words and using proper grammar is not an impossible feat. If you are unsure of how to spell something, you can always check on Microsoft Word, online dictionaries, or Firefox. Firefox does have a spell check. I am not saying that everything has to be perfect. Mistakes are understandable. Anyone who knows me knows that I am a master when it comes to the not so fine art of making typos. More than half the time my typos become other words so spell check does not detect them. Proofread, that's all I ask. Oh yeah, and leet is out of the question.
Please, no flaming others. We are all here to have fun, talk, and role-play, not to jump at and claw out each other's throats. Yes, this is a vampire RP, but it does not mean that any of us have to be cruel and insensitive.
No god-modding. This is a rule that you should have heard in your history of role-playing. God-modding happens when a player decides to control another player's character in ways that either physically control the character or constrict it from doing anything due to a certain change in the surroundings of all those present. For instance, one I was a part of a forum where my character and another were in the middle of a scene at a school where they had just confessed their love for one another. Someone who was not involved in the RP came in and had her character pull the fire alarm as a prank. Both of our characters ignored it, but because of this, every two posts or so, the invader would comment on the alarm while making out of character comments stating that the alarm continued to wail. We eventually had to give in and our romantic scene was interrupted.
Vampires, werewolves, and demons are important characters in horror and as with many horror-esque things, blood and gore is usually attached. Vampires, werewolves, and demons are no exception. Vampires do drink blood after all, or at least most of them do. Some feed off of emotions and spirits, but I digress from the point. Yes, we will include blood. Yes, we will include fight scenes. Yes, we will be descriptive in doing so. However, remember the PG-13 rule. Keep it in mind while you are posting. I will be the one to decide if posts are suitable or not. Don't worry, I'm lenient and won't gasp and exclaim "They used the word blood four times in that post!" No, no. Personally, I don't care how high something is rated but anything and everything on Gaia must follow the rules the site put into place.
No cybering. That's just sick and wrong, alright? If you want to do something like that with someone you just met over the net who you know nothing about, then go and- Ugh, just don't do it, okay?
Shounen-ai and shojo-ai run rampant in here. Yes, these vampires, humans, and hunters may be gay or straight. This is a forum for all kinds of pairings. Don't join if you have a problem with that. To me, love is love and gender does not matter. You can't help whom your heart chooses and those who experience the emotion are the luckiest people in the world because it really is a wonderful thing. Don't close your mind.
If you are interested in an original character, please fill out a form to apply for one. You can find the form within the forum. This helps me see that the character is well rounded and is not thrown together at the last minute while wearing the name 'Mary Sue' or 'Gary Stu.'
Only play as the character that you have been approved of. A list of current characters can be found in the forum. The post is a sticky; you can't miss it.
