GPKISM is a gothic rock band formed in 2007. It was originally the solo project of Gothique Prince Ken (better known as GPK), while Kiwamu (of Blood) joined later that year. Both GPK and Kiwamu compose music for this project. They have been featured in several publications including Cure Magazine and they have toured in Australia, Japan, the United States and Central America. According to GPK himself the concept is "the manifestation of baroque essence fused with electro/industrial sound, creating a unique world both decadent and sublime".

History

GPKISM was formed in January 2007 as the solo project of Australian musician GPK, and in September, guitarist Kiwamu of the Japanese rock band Blood joined the project. In January 2008, the same month that they released their first EP Sublimis, they were featured in the very popular and influential Cure Magazine.

The band played their first live show on April 13, 2008 at Alamode Night in Japan. In June, they went on to play three shows in Australia complete with meet-and-greets at each stop.

Their first single, "Illuminatum", was released on September 17, 2008. This was soon followed by their "Lament of the Fallen Star Tour", which included shows in Japan, Mexico, Costa Rica and in the United States at Nekocon. In December of that year, they played two live shows, one in the beginning of the month and one at the end of the month, opening for Suicide Ali.

Most recently, Tainted Reality invited GPKISM returned to Mexico and the United States to accompany Blood on their final tour.

GPKISM's first full-length album, Atheos, was released on March 4, 2009. This is to be followed in March and April by a multi-city tour of Japan and Australia; their Australian tour will also have Aural Vampire and DJ SiSeN performing.
