In an interview with The Edmontonsun.com, Christian talked about why he left TNA and returned to WWE:

"I had a chance to re-evaluate the things I wanted in life," Christian told Tim Baines in the Edmonton Sun. "I didn't think my job was done in WWE. I felt if I wanted to be on top, WWE's where I had to be. I had some unfinished business here."

He doesn't seem to mind being on ECW:

"There had been speculation about certain things, but I don't think anybody expected me to show up on ECW," Christian said. "It's a good place to get my feet wet."

He feels better than ever:

"I don't want to be handed anything. I want to earn everything. It's a blank canvas for me now," he said. "One hundred percent, I'm better now than when I left. I'm three years older and three years wiser."
