I too am a lover of all kinds of music, just like art, it's all in the eye of the beholder...or in this case, ear. But I tend to stick with Classic and modern rock, classical, Japanese, a few old country songs I grew up on... I don't single out a specific band, singer or genre. I listen to songs individually, for lyrics, rhythem, uniqueness and more. So it confuses people for me to say I'm a My Chemical Romance or Red fan but don't know half of their music, so I just say songs that I like instead of grouping them...just makes more sense to me for the way I see music.
Overall...I'd have to say enjoying all kinds of music is a great talent, just like seeing beauty in every work of art reguardless of where your passion for it may lay. The only music I don't enjoy would have to be with overly crude lyrics that are just to stir the media and people up, they're attention getters in the wrong way. If they can't come up with something grand that will be catchy and fresh with talent, they just throw every dirty thing in the book in a song and get noticed that way. It brings shame to the very meaning of music.

im more into the Hard rock/metal genre but that doesnt stop me from listening to different types of music like techno or goth. all music is great ^^

I grew up liking pop, and then rock, then metal and goth, then heavy metal, then classical. My friends all say that my iPod is too random XDXD

I personaly think that every kind of music is awesome. I might not like to listen to it that much. It's a matter of perspective. I like to listen to just about everything but most rap, hip-hop, and country. I think they are valid genres and while rap may take less technical skill than say, Screamo, they still have the heart and desire to create the music that they love. And there are people who will disagree with me, but i'm just here to spread the love. razz

well, i cant say i listen to one genre, cuz i listen to A LOT more than that... but i don't exactly listen to everything either... i've got everything from beethoven to dethklock on my iPod, but i don't exactly listen to it all... i hate rap with a passion, but there are still a few songs of rap i will actually listen to... so i voted *everything* in the poll cuz it's the closest to me... sweatdrop

I listen to everything. And I honestly mean that. It does usually depend on the mood, which is mixed most of the time. Other times, it's just one or two genres. The only genre of music that I can NOT stand is gospel, and that's it.

i listen to all types of music. i usually love it, like it, don't like it, or hate it ((and when i hate it, it usually is really bad))
