The flow of water, it often was a sound that Elysse found to be the most calming thing in her life, the canyon echoed of it. She floated right above the water's surface as she followed the river's flow. She was out for a day of relaxation, a day of possible new adventures and she was in store for one indeed. As she lazily hovered over the river, her eyes partially closed, a small crash of water splashed her face, a large rock slide had disrupted her meditation. She shook her head and stopped, rubbing her eyes for a moment as she slowly gained some elevation to see where the slide had been before she heard a loud wail that overcame the sounds of the river, and echoed in the canyon. The source was hard to pick out, there had been many rock piles that had formed over the years, but the creature who wailed before did so again, and Elysse was able to pin point it's location. The rocks had piled high, was it even possible to get the creature out without harming it further? She frantically looked over the rocks and tried to find a crack to see perhaps what it was she was trying to help. A chimaeve, all the way down here? But again, she was one to wander, maybe this one was too. Elysse tilted her head, getting an idea, but she would need some help to keep the rocks from caving, the chimaeve had only a small pocket. " Er..Are you hurt? Anything caught under any of the rocks?" She questioned the creature, unsure if she would have to rethink her plan. " my...my..tail" it sobbed. Elysse shook her head for a moment, she would have to start from the top of the pile and work her way down, it would take her all day to free the little one. " I'm going to try and get you free okay? Just be still, if something else hurts just let me know." She called out as she started to lift the rocks from the top of the pile and tossed them toward the river.

That day, Articuno had just been gliding over the canyons, wanting to explore them a little more. Over all, he didn't really want to be spotted, in the case he ran into someone that wouldn't take to his appearance too well. "Woooaaah! Mira!" shouted Frio as they flew. Looking down at the river below, he saw a number of rocks begin to tumble down towards the water. Hopefully nothing had been caught up in that, but he too heard the cry of a creature down below. So quickly, his eyes scanned around the area the rocks had crashed down upon, and sure enough, he managed to spot a chimaeve there. <> questioned the icy salamander on Articuno's backside. He tried to peek over the hybrid's shoulder to see what was below but didn't have much luck there. "A rock slide... and it looks like a chimaeve got caught up in it."Swiftly, the pan'avia flew down towards the pile, and as he did, he spotted a pan'lun making her way to the same place. She had reached the creature before him, and was already beginning to move the rocks in an attempt to free the cat-like beast. Articuno slowed his descent as he reached the top of the pile, glancing over towards the female to speak up. "Is the chimaeve alright?" he asked as he carefully grabbed onto a rock to toss aside.

Elysse jumped, a little bit of a nervous wreck at the moment, she clumsily tossed a rock to the river. She looked to the the other painter and paused for a moment, unable to really comprehend his look at the moment. "Uh..uh..." She stuttered as she looked back to the rocks and the chimaeve. "It's tail is pinned...And it's quite frightened...But it should be fine after we get these rocks off.." She said as she shook her head and focused back on the chimaeve. She lifted a rock that was quite a bit heavy and gently set it aside carefully to not hurt herself. She glanced back at the Pan'avia and smiled. "Thank you, this would have taken me all day to clear." She said as she looked back to the pile, it was diminishing quickly, the chimaeve was curled up and shaking. She reached in and lightly stroked it's head. "It's going to be okay, we'll get you out of here in no time" She reassured it.

Nodding to the pan'lun, Articuno glanced down towards the frightened Chimaeve. It was certainly a relief to hear that it wasn't badly injured. In any case they needed to get it free before it could get hurt even more somehow.
"That's good at least... I wonder how it got all the way here though."
The hybrid continued to work on tossing the rocks from the pile and into the river. As he did, he glanced over towards the female, smiling faintly as she attempted to reassure the beast some. Most likely it'd be a bit shaken for awhile in the least.
Frio also helped out with the effort some. Or at least she tried to. Basically, she just shifted away the much smaller rocks that she was capable of carrying. Pagos on the other hand was content with staying put on Articuno's back for the time being. No sense in exerting himself here after all.

Elysse looked up and gave a shaky smile to the hybrid as she continued to move the rocks as quickly and steadily as she could. She occasionally looked back up to the blue painter and then back down to the chimaeve, making sure it was okay.
"Well...Maybe it got swept down stream...Bad luck this one has.." She sighed and lifted the rock from the chimaeve's tail, chucking it out into the river. The chimaeve frantically tried to claw it's way from it's entrapment, onto the soft sand.
"Shhhhh Calm down. Everything is going to be okay.." Elysse shot over quickly to it, wrapping herself around it and stroked it's head. "I'll get you home nice and safe." She looked back to the blue painter and smiled faintly. "I am guessing it's had a hard few days.."

As he shifted the rocks off of the pile and into the river, Articuno glanced down at the frightened and trapped chimaeve for a moment as the pan'lun female spoke to it.
"Maybe, but I'd say its luck has changed else we would not have found it."
Letting out a sigh, he looked as the beast scrambled out of the pile. Seeing how it was free now, he stopped working at the pile and instead landed lightly on top of the rocks to rest and relax a bit. As he did this, Frio went ahead and perched upon one of his horns to settle down some as well.
"Home... they come from the region around crater lake don't they? That's quite a distance to be swept away..."

Elysse lightly stroked the chimaeve's head as she looked back up to the blue painter. Her yellow orbs flickered back and forth from the mimicgryph and then back to watch the hybrid. He was unlike any other she had seen, she had heard of here being a slight few, but she had never seen any. She smiled and looked back down to the chimaeve. "Thank you for helping me. I bet it would have taken me ages to free him." She paused and looked back to the blue painter again. "My name is Elysse" She lowered her head in a bowing gesture and turned back to the chimaeve, who was calming down now, eyes fluttering shut.
"As for crater lake, yea..That's where I am guess he's from... I'll ask him later, when he's calm... Poor little guy" she frowned and played with his ears for a moment before lightly rubbing his head again.

As he settled down, the blue hybrid began to fix up his tail feathers. They had gotten a bit ruffled while he was moving the rocks. And now that things have calmed he went ahead to begin smoothing them out. While he did this, he nodded and smiled a bit at the pan'lun nearby.
"And I'm Articuno. A pleasure to meet you..."
For a moment, the pan'avia glanced over towards the frightened chimaeve, looking it over a bit before speaking up again.
"It's good that he wasn't badly harmed. But you may want to check on his tail to see if anything there was broken.. it'd be a shame if he ended up getting an infection or something along those lines later on.."
