Well it may not be exactly steampunk, but this is Big Lizzie:

(Sorry for the big photo, it's the only one I could find)
This was once the largest steam traction engines in the world and it's unique wheels were a short-time forerunner to treads. It was used to hual mass frieght and clear trees in the arid Australian outback. More or less I'd call it a steampunk Hummer that actualy existed.

Unfortunatly Big Lizzie does not run any more, not that you would notice much of a diffrence as it's top speed was only 3 k/ph. It was, however, able to reach places in the desert that camels struggled too. For those who are intrested here are 2 more photos I found showing it's impressive size:

If I remember correctly tents were set up on top of it's cargo for the men who worked it, makeing it more or less a self propeled mini-village of sorts.
