Alright so I kind of don't understand the significance of the whole bridging between planets. I know to make it feel more realistic space travel from one place to another makes sense but in the bigger picture it in no way directly affects roleplaying on one planet and then another.

If someone would like to explain to me the thought process behind it by all means post away but if you see it how do then say so!

Well, what's the point of having a whole factional galaxy available, and only using one planet?

That's just noob.

"I'm Luke! I'm so born on Tatooine and I never left because everything about the Force I ever learnt was totally based here. Lol!"

Also, petitions are better off in the Suggestion Forum. That's what it's there for.

Agreed with Seffi. Star Wars is a space opera-- the whole point of it is to have the ability to instill a large, over-arching plot that affects billions-- if not trillions-- of galactic denizens. The fact is, in this roleplay-- hell, in almost ANY sci-fi roleplay-- you need a change in planet, because most of the planets are mono-topographic, not to mention of the same social and political ideology. Hopping from Coruscant to Tatooine is their equivalent of hopping from the US's east coast megalopolis to the Sarhara desert. If you go from the Business Sector on Coruscant to the Recreational Sector on Coruscant, you're on the same damn planet with the same precentage of human/alien society. If you go from North Tatooine to South Tatooine, you're still in the desert. Ryloth is probably the only planet with any major differences from one side to the other, and that's because the authors needed a way to shove Hell's Canyon together with Antarctica, for dramatic effect.

Besides, we tried the whole one-planet and no space travel idea a year and a half ago and roleplayers nearly mobbed my front door with their pitchforks and X-wing-shaped torches.

Plus, it helps keep the RP organized. Easier to track posts, if you know the thread it's in.

I think you guys misunderstand me. Using the whole space transition thing is definately a good idea! Its just that I feel that it being a requirement to make a single post to further project the fact that your moving about from one place to another is insignificant. I get what you all are saying though.

Having open space RPs though is quite interesting but unless your boarding another vessel not much really happens besides a conversation with yourself. I never had an issue with having to go from one planet to another but someone told me to wait before I posted on another planet after I left one already. Waiting for me seems like a big waist of time and creativity.

When you invent the instantaneous teleportation device, please let us know.

While this is science fiction, we still strive to make it as realistic as possible. If that means cranking out another post to let people know what's happening and to give time for last-minute interactions, then it means doing so. In fact, it's what a responsible roleplayer would do anyway. The only other option is pure laziness. Waste of time and creativity? I think not. If anything, it's an opportunity.

Also, you don't have to create another post, just to say "And he got in his ship and then left." You're free with including it in your last post in the same thread, and just making it bigger.

I apologize if we sound abrasive... we just don't see the need not to make sure roleplayers clarify that they're moving from one place to another.
