A friend of mine just got her bellybutton pierced.
It had an dangling charm, which wouldn't be my first pick for healing jewelry,
but it's been done before and it didn't seem like such a big deal.
Until...
About two days later, her bellybutton started pussing
green-ish yellow goo and it started to migrate downwards.
When she woke up skin had already started healing over the top.
She went back to the piercer and he told her to take it out and clean it.
But when she took it out, the infection got trapped inside.
It was swollen as ******** for a week and bled whenever she moved.
She eventually went to the hospital and had a doctor take care of it.
It turns out that she was allergic to the jewelry.
Although the banana bar was surgical steel,
the charm turned out to be nickle.
(Which she was fiercely allergic to.)
DUN DUN DUUUUUUN!
So, be careful guys.
Be sure your jewelry is what you think it is.
