Before I read the manual.. About 5 Months after I got my Ps3. xDD

Whenever my Ps3 froze.. I just turned it off in the back.. Happened about 3 Times..

After reading the manual, I lived in fear of one day trying to turn on My Ps3.. and it not responding.

After another 5 months of nothing going wrong I stopped worrying about it.. But now recently.. Every once in awhile well playing a game.. My controllers will turn off.. Thus making me restart the system because they won't turn on until I do.

Is something wrong with my PS3 or does this occansionally happen to everyone? Or is it because I touched that damn back button..

Why is it even there? XD

For the future if your PS3 freeze just hold down the front power button till you hear it beep. Your PS3 will restart safely that way. The power button is on the back to completely turn off your PS3 in case you don't want it on standby.

For your controller try re syncing it with the PS3 through its menu. I'll have to look but you'll most likely have to do something with the reset button on the back of the controller.

Oh I know that now.. Haha

And yea but lets say, just today I was playing Resistance 2

And playing Online, I would hit the Ps Button and go to send a message to my friend. I would go to send the message and the message Box would stay there. Everything would be happening online.. But I couldn't move because the Text box was froze on my screen. The only thing I could do was hold down the PS button and quit game.

I don't think it has anything to do with Re syncing them..

I think its solely the PS3.

Sometimes sending messages on PSN gives the system a heart attack if you're in the middle of an online session. I've had mine stay in the XMB longer than I wanted to, especially during game loading screens but it eventually went back to normal. how long are you waiting?

Im Waiting for a loooong Time...

Like maybe the system hasn't froze..

But the XMB stays frozen there..

Does the PS3 still work? Maybe try updating to the new firmware. *is that out yet?*

My Ps3 still works fine except for what I mentioned above.

Try updating to the new firmware. It COULD fix it. If I am right your problem is when you go into like the in game XMB it freezes but the game continues.

You are also having issues with keeping your controller connected.

Is this with one controller or have you tried others?

Try cleaning it from dust. It stopped my freezing problem for awhile. Speaking of which I still have to clean it again. (Safety reasons xD) Also, just and FYI...I play R2 as well. xd But back to the problem, clean it from dust with a vaccum. If you don't wanna risk sucking something out watch a video on youtube, that's what I did, to look for distance and stuff like that. If it doesn't stop that just call tech support and just ask if they could help you through the phone. Hopefully it shouldn't come to that and if it does...well hopefully you don't get some duchebag like I did the 1st 2 times. xd

How do you clean it? I have a compressed air machine in the garage. Do I just spray in the vents?

I Update as soon as the Firmware comes out.. So thats not the problem.

And Im pretty sure you don't want to use something that blows into the PS3.. That sounds alittle risky..

Just get like a Vaccuum or something and hold it up against the Vents..

Im gonna try that tonight.

You spray short bursts of air. We use it all the time to clean the computers and other things in the house. It is recommended over sucking because of the force used.
