Rhiannon watched in fascinated silence as the troll woman conjured a floating ball of water that turned rapidly into ice as she looked on.
'That's amazing, can all trolls do that? Will your children be able to?' she didn't often meet anyone these days that can anything beyond the mundane, and she was filled with curiosity.
'What's a leyline?' she checked herself suddenly. 'I apologise for all the questions, I just find what you do very intriguing.'

Aya blinked at Rhiannon. So many questions. And about such weird things. "Not all." she said at last, having to forcefully convince herself the query was made out of curiosity and not out of an attempt at racism. After all, it was hard to make racial jabs at a specimen of a race you'd never seen before.
"We ain' no mystical unicorns or nuttin, we's jus' people. Ah trained fa years ta learn dat. Iffin dey wanna train, dey be learnin' it too." she added, eyes flicking to the twins momentarily. Did Gaia also have no means of magic, she wondered? If ley lines crossed through it, she found that doubtful...
Which brought her to Rhiannon's second question. "Ley lines is what magic travels 'cross ta get from one place ta anudda. It dun jus' come outta thin air. When ah landed 'ere, ah was t'rown way offa de one dat carried us. So now ah gotta find anudda one ta ride back on."

Rhiannon smiled at that; 'I didn't think you were that, and I know of magic, just never really seen it displayed. And with such proficiency.'
'So you travelled using the leylines? Oh. Well,' she paused, looking at the two babies sprawled in the mud. It was a shame she was so determined to leave, Rhiannon would have liked to see the babies again when they grew, to see if either of them would learn magic.
'I suppose I should leave you to it then..' she stood, swiping at the mud that clung to her jeans. 'It was nice meeting you, and well, take care I guess.' she smiled.

"Yeh. You too." Ayanne made no effort to hide the relief in her voice at being left alone. As Rhiannon stood, she moved to collect the two half-bloods from the muck, ignoring their squeals of protest as she carried them back to bundle them into their carrying sash once again.
They needed a bath. SHE needed a nap. And if there was time somewhere in between, all three of them could do with a decent meal.
As she moved to continue on her way, Mal'kyor, from his perch between Aya's shoulders reached out to Rhiannon, the frozen water dropping from his mouth as he did so to give her one last parting grin.

Rhiannon smiled, absurdly pleased at the toothless grin and waved after the baby boy, before making her own way home.
