The new Decemberists album is AMAZING. my brother got it two days ago, and I have been listening to it nonstop since then (and singing along badly, of course). XD
The first time I listened, I wasn't really paying attention to the words, and musically nothing struck me as being out of the ordinary. But then, I listened the second time and I am completely enthralled. All of the songs tie into one story, and it's done incredibly well. Not noticing the overall story on my first listen, it seemed kind of random, but then once I knew the story it all falls into place. Each of the characters have certain styles and influences in the music, and there's a main recurring melody throughout the whole thing.
Definitely worth checking out. :]
Oh man, sweet holy moly, my brother is taking me to a Decemberists concert this summer. : D We got the tickets last night. Gonna be awesome! gonk heart
