Marvel Vision, the 90's successor to Marvel Age, had a feature called Timeslip. Each month, the more popular artists working at Marvel at the time would take turns putting their unique spin on various characters. They would make new costumes and alter their histories while trying to stay true to the original premise of the hero or villian. This November, I offer the guild a chance to do a similar thing.
The contest is in two parts.
Part one:
Contestants will make an original character based on a short description that I will PM to you. The description will be of an already established comic book character who's been published Stateside in the last 10 years. You will have 10 days to make your creation and post it. Your character must have:
A name (self explanatory)
A history (a biography and some comments on their personality)
Powers and abilities (what they can or can't do)
Picture OR physical description (av edits, other original art, a description or anything else you can think of to let us know what they look like)
Once all they entries are posted, everyone in the guild is allowed to vote on them (one vote per handler, please) on a scale of 1 to 5, PMed to me. The person with the highest average score wins a November donation letter from yours truly.
Part two:
As well as voting on the character entries, everyone in the guild, including the creators, can guess on who they think the characters were based on. One set of guesses per handler, PMed to me. The handler with the highest correct guesses wins a November letter.
Contestants can enter from now until November 5th. November 6th, you will recieve your descriptions, can start on your characters and post them until November 15th. November 16th to the 25th (the day after Thanksgiving in the US), everyone can vote and guess. The 26th, I will annouce the winners and reveal who all the characters were based on.
