The Other Me--- private role-play
Players: Mandy, Grim and Lucifuge Setting: Durem Residence; evening
--- Mandy sat in the dark of her living room, wedge heels kicked up on the coffee table in front of her as she slouched motionless on her couch. God, if this was PMS she prayed her period came soon because she has been in the foulest mood for weeks. Auuugh! She had even been discharged early from work yesterday after biting a customer's head off. Well, usually she was on the brink of being scolded for her attitude to the customers anyway, buuut that's because she never called someone a b***h to their face before until now. She was being a b***h. God, she ******** deserved it!! Deposit slips are not that hard, honey! Goddamn! "Ugh...." Pinching the bridge of her nose, she tried her best to calm down lest she black out again. And holy s**t.... What the ******** were those all about?! She wasn't an alcoholic so she didn't have an excuse for them. Mandy couldn't say she was unhealthy either, all her sneaking and plundering and pirating kept her a** fit. s**t, maybe it was from that concussion. Or before that....... "Mother ******** don't you ask someone what's wrong...." The brunette looked down with a wince, glaring daggers at grim for disrupting her cold, dark solitude. "Who?" "Perhaps the b***h that did this to you..." Even for a dog it seemed pretty logical. "......." So she found herself back at the house where it started after trying to call Attis. Lil ******** never showed up to help her. Well, he said sometimes he was busy. But... she had neeeeds right nooow! Heaven help him if she blew someone up because she couldn't control these bloody black outs because he was busy! No. She wouldn't allow this. A petite manicured finger pressed the door bell lightly and waited, adjusting herself to properly draw the greeter's attention. Unless it was a woman. Well, even still, she may swing that way. Mandy didn't judge.

A woman did not answer the door. In fact, Lucifuge did, quite irritated because- because, well, he'd been working. His plans didn't bear with interruption. At least it'd only been writing- orders, of course- and not anything truly important, like spellcasting or negotiations with certain authority figures in Hell. Enough bribes had been passed through him that he began to wonder if the demon society had begun to believe that it was Winsol already.
It took a moment for the sight on the other side of the door to sink in. "My my," he said, casual and calm, "Avarita. To what do I owe the pleasure?"
Some time ago, several Sins had simply vanished. Though Avarita had not been one of them, he hadn't had the opportunity to hunt down the others; perhaps he could find out through this. "Come in," he said. Courtesy was definitely his best attribute. Standing to the side, he made a gesture clearly stating no my lady, after you.

When the door cracked open, Mandy's arms snapped straight to her sides. She almost got caught adjusting herself. But seeing a familiar face, the brunette smiled openly if not a bit wryly.
Avarita.
The very word made her eyes flutter anxiously. She wasn't sure if this alter-ego scared her or not. Well, publicly, she would never admit it but... it was unnerving to be recognized only as this Sinful counterpart by these people. Not that she should expect anything else really, this was business after all. But even as the Weasel that was another counterpart perfectly under her control and manipulation. It was her in a mask. Now... she was under the mercy of this dark power within her.
She was supposed to enjoy this! And now... it was turning into more like a pain in the a**. But hopefully Attis could help her.
"Ah well--Oh thanks..." God, him and his chivalry. Mandy didn't think she'd ever get used to a polite male. Not that she really planned to. Stepping inside, Mandy stood in the entrance way and waited for him to close the door, not wanting to wander somewhere she wasn't wanted. "Ahhh yeah well.... I dunno how much of a pleasure it's going to be. I've been having problems with this 'Avarita'..." Following it up with dainty manicured quotes. "I've been losing loong tracks of time lately, and I've never suffered from black outs before this whole...." Uhh what was the word for this Sinful event? "thing...." Eh, Good enough.
"Attis said he'd help me with handling all this, but I called him and he didn't come... So I came here to see if he was busy or something..."

Lucifuge smiled, always the perfect gentleman, and shut the door quietly. "Come with me," he said, hands in his pockets and posture excellent, tone mellifluous and light. He placed one hand on the banister when he was close enough to the stairs for such a thing to be feasible. Mmm, yes, he wouldn't mind speaking to Avarita at all; she did have a way with words. The smile turned derisive, but since he wasn't looking her way, he doubted she'd notice. "The Mistress is out, so-"
Attis? He stopped halfway up the stairs, a spasm of something like pain on his face. Damn it, the boy hadn't been meant to die. He shouldn't have been so attached to the Queen. And Lucifuge hadn't seen it- too ensconced in plotting. Already he'd ruined that son once, then he'd gotten the boy murdered by that human summoner... He shook his head. The Queen didn't know; wouldn't know. Couldn't know.
"Attis is dead," he said shortly, then he continued up the stairs.
The room they entered was well-appointed and vaguely recognizable as the room where the seven sins had first met each other. Now, though, it had been remodeled into a study; a heavy-looking desk wrought in dark bloodwood graced the west-facing wall. Behind it was a table, small and circular with a black tablecloth of some undoubtedly expensive fabric covering it. He took a seat in one well-appointed chair, tugged the fabric off the table; it was a chess board. The circular shape was accounted for by pockets grooved into the wood, to hold captured pieces.
"Shall we play a game, Avarita? I shall do my best to answer your questions."

Mandy followed quietly behind, doing her best not to look like she was scoping out the place. Not that Lucifuge could really see her. And not like she was going to steal anything (she would probably be flayed alive before she even made it to the door), but curiosity and all that. Nothing looked obscenely valuable, but the brunette was sure some of this stuff had to be old as time. Eventually intrigue waned and she stepped up the stairs, almost hitting the man--or demon or whatever--after his abrupt halt.
"......." The young woman pursed her lips into a tight straight line and stared at Lucifuge's back. She wasn't sure what to say to that. "..... Oh..." was the only thing she could eek out. Izzy and now Attis? The two people she genuinely didn't want to crucify, and they both die. If it weren't for the fact that demon politics were probably a bit merciless, she would have started to wonder if it was her.
The initial fright that his loss would hurt subsided and there was only a dull throb of regret. She wasn't sure if she was happy or sad this didn't pain her more. She was a super villain! They weren't supposed to be swayed by love and loss, but she was still human.
Well--she stopped herself--not all that much anymore. Not wanting to say anymore and seeing Lucifuge didn't either, Mandy continued up the stairs.
"Chess?" She hung against the door frame, watching him and then back to the no doubt expensive board. "Jesus, I dunno how much of an opponent I'll be. Last time I played chess was in middle school..." Grinning sardonically, she edged over to the table. "But I beat that kid, so why not?" She took the seat in front of Lucifuge, her smile growing. "I'm a poor sport I'll have you know... I don't take to losing very well..."
