Kanati remembered stretching in his teepee, the early morning smells coming through the opening they had tried to cover with a two leg blanket during the winter. He stood noting that Starshine had awoken before him to head out for a run. Moving outside his teepee he smiled at the beautiful day before closing his eyes. Kanati's ears stayed perked for any sound or sign of what today would be like.

"I pray to the gods and spirits let all days be this lovely." Kanati spoke aloud in his deep almost echoing voice.

Viscoso had made this same journey some time ago when his children were still small but to no avail. No one had been home and he couldn't wait around all day since he needed to be back home to the rest of his family. He had meant to try again sooner but had just never gotten around to it until now. It was obvious his only daughter was happy to be by his side again, knowing she didn't take too well to being on her own. But she stayed silent on the trip, her eyes open and aware for anything the dared to jump out and spook her. Which could very easily be a leaf.

Nearing their destination, the teepee came into view and he saw the regal stallion he'd looked up to for so long standing outside. With a smile, he continued down, not needing to call out since he knew his father would be able to feel his presence.

A wider smile graced Kanati's lips as the feelings of the earth changed. The spirits speaking in their own way to let Kanati know of the new presence in the forest. The wind brought the scent to his nostrils and he breathed deep to know the smell again. It was familiar and yet distant, thought pleasant just the same.

"Nvwadohiyadv gvdodi nihi uwetsi." Kanati spoke his traditional greeting meaning Peace be with you my son. He turned himself to face the direction Viscoso was coming from. Only then had he realized there was another with his son. At firs he thought it might be Viscoso's mate, but no this young one with the timid aura must be one of his grandchildren.

"And who might you have with you, Viscoso?" Kanati asked slowly walking towards them so happy to see his son again and excited to meet his grandchild.

Viscoso smiled and nuzzled his father in greeting and turned to look at his daughter. "Your one and only grandaughter. Well hopefully you'll have another someday." With a chuckle he winked at Kanati and then circled back to nudged Lina forward more, almost as if she was a small foal again. She always reverted back to her shyness in the presences of strangers.

Adalina was shy around strangers but this one in particular mostly just because of his presence. He was large, larger than her own father and despite the kind look on his face she couldn't help but be afraid a little. Even if he was family. "A-A" Her mouth shut smartly at her stuttering and she waited until she thought she could speak smoothly before trying again. "Adalina. Lina for sh-short." When her father stepped up beside her she buried her head against him, while keeping one eye on her grandfather.

Kanati enjoyed embracing his son again, he wished they could be together every day, but it was better that Viscoso could have time alone with his mate. He turned his head to Lina and took her presence in. It was timid like a creek or spring's gentle winds, but he could tell that she had another side deeper down.

"My only Granddaughter? She is very special indeed then." Kanati chuckled trying to shake the echo and depth from it, which wasn't easy. " I should say I want to see more, Viscoso. Many, many Grandchildren would make me more happy then the spring spirits." Kanati joked with his son one to many it didn't matter each was a blessing all to their own.

"Adalina is a very pretty name, but I will call you by which ever you would prefer. It's wonderful to finally meet you." Kanati said the smile fading slightly though not turning to any frown. He was thinking of the time he had missed with his Grandchildren, he had not gotten to see them as foals and still yet to have seen his Grandson..or Grandsons as the case could be. He hadn't known where to find them, but perhaps he should have spent time looking. No, the time had been spent helping two legs and soquili a like. It would have been wrong of him to spend time aimlessly wandering to find his own flesh and blood when others needed help.
"I trust the spirits have been treating you bother well?" Kanati spoke at last trying to break his chain of thought.

Viscoso laughed and shook his head. "You cannot rush these things father but I'm sure we'll discuss it soon since our first three have long since left and living their own lives. Who knows, someone might make you a great grandfather soon, hmmm?" He gave his daughter a look with a smirk, hoping this little chat would help her ease up a bit.

Lina gaped at him and started babbling incoherent things before finally making some sense. "I'm doing no such thing!" Her face turned red at the mention of Heph but she still shook her head denying everything he was saying. "I don't plan to have babies now or anytime soon, thank you very much." She turned her head from him to get her composure back and stop her face from turning bright red. Though at least he didn't call him her 'boy toy' as Amitola did.

"Ah yes well, sometimes with love, things happen by accident." He shrugged as if that was the way things were even as she gaped at him more though now she had offically lost her words. "We've all been fine. We see the boys around every once in a while so from what I know, they're fine as well. How've you and mother been? It's been sometime since she's been around."

Kanati watched the banter and simply fell in to laughter. He nudged Viscoso, but still didn't stop laughing quite yet.

"Take your time Lina, I don't need to feel any older than I already do." Kanati backed up a bit to look at them both again. Sometimes it was hard to even imagine that they were related by blood, they looked so different.

"So Lina, has your father taken the time out of his foal making attempts to teach you properly." Kanati said eyeing Viscoso.

Viscoso rolled his eyes and snorted at his father. "You act as if that's all I do. I have to eat and sleep too." He grinned and looked to his daughter. All his children looked more like Krysta to him. Tsubasa got her colors, Amitola got more of his father's colors but not much. And Lina just didn't look like either of them. Though she reminded him a lot of his own mother with lighter colors.

Lina tilted her head at Kanati and glanced at her father. "Teach? Well he taught me stuff when my brothers and I came out of our baskets. Like wildlife and plants and stuff. I don't know what other teaching you would be talking about besides that."

"Ah, I was never the teacher you are, father. I taught them basics as a father should but otherwise I don't think I would know how to properly teach them all the things you know." He honestly didn't think he was as in tune with nature as his father and whether that was true or not, couldn't say it to his father's face.

"Oh that was implied, but with my lack of grandchildren maybe you're not tying enough!" Kanati continued to laugh he hadn't been this full of mirth in awhile.

"Well, I could explain and teach you if you are wanting a willing my Granddaughter?" Kanati said a little surprised that she didn't understand what he was talking about. He thought his son might still carry on some of Kanati's traditions, but it seemed that wasn't so.

"I am no more of a teacher then you? One can't teach someone to feel the earth and it's spirits. They can only inform others of it and hope they care enough to listen. A father should inform their child of every knowledge they can, specially as the become old enough to understand. Teaching them only the basics was the basic of what any father can do, to be honest I expected a bit more from you my son, but then again it is your choice to teach them what you will. From the looks of Little Lina, you have done very well and I am proud of you for that Viscoso." Kanati nodded he was both a little disappointed that his son had not informed Lina, but at the same time he was too proud of his son to let it mater.

Viscoso looked away for a moment, knowing he'd disappointed his father in that area. In the few lessons he'd had not much had stuck with him over the years and he was ashamed for it because he knew that was what his father valued most. Besides family. "I'm sorry. I don't know what else to say besides that except that I probably should have tried harder. Because I wasn't great at learning about that stuff I guess I felt like a failure as your only son. I did retain some of it though, it's how I connected with Krysta since she's very in tune with nature too. But maybe I wasn't worried about teaching my kids about certain things because I knew they would learn a lot of important things out on their own by making their own choices and mistakes." He looked to Lina, who tilted her head at the strange turn of conversation but smiled and rested her head on his neck like always. "Whatever I did, I did something right. If you would like to teach her or any of your grandchildren, it's up to them. Honestly I think Amitola is too worried about himself and mares," he explained as he rolled his eyes.

Lina giggled at the thought of Amitola. "I wouldn't mind learning some things grandpa. I know mother feels nature and...what they're feeling?" She looked to Vis for conformation and he nodded. "I don't think I could be able to do that but learning more about the things around me would be nice and maybe fun too."
