 It seemed like any other normal nap, head resting on rather uncomfortable stone claws. With all the time that had passed, Batujiwe had gotten used to it for the most part, brushing it off even when he woke up with deep indents on the still fluffy side of his face. In fact, he'd grown so used to it that it was beginning to lose its potency. The past few days had been uneventful, to say the least. No work, not even play, his mind had begun to grow dull and uncaring again. This was nice, just resting, enjoying himself and worrying about nothing else at al-
His stomach did a flip.
A crushing feeling washed over his sleeping form. It was familiar, unwelcomed, the harbinger of something he wished he no longer had to think about. Waking with a start, the male tried to lift his head from his paws, only to find that the one side of his face held him down. No. It was just like the first time. Maybe there was less stone covering him this time, but... It was still heavy. It was still painful. And he cried out in remorse. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" he whined, finally able to lift his head and soon his entire, aching body from the ground. But it wasn't going away this time. The surpise of the first time this had happened blocked out quite a bit of the pain. This time it came in full force. He knew why, but had no idea what to do now as he stood, form shaking under the weight of slightly crumbling stone.

 Jadean was a wanderer at heart. She loved to stay outdoors as much as possible-despite the warnings from her human caretaker. She had only arrived at her human's place a week ago and she already had spent more hours outside than inside. It was a rather good change from the inside invironment to the outdoor one. She wasn't one to be careful. She always got out of any situation better than the other kitsu her human caretaker takes care of. She figured her green pelt was a good luck charm that could keep away any bad luck that might spring up on her. Today would be the day she would be proven wrong. It had rained the night before and Jadean was busy trotting through the forest when all of a sudden she fell into a puddle of mud. And it wasn't very shallow. It was deep. Her wings were soon covered in the thick mud and were useless. She reached out to grab anything to prevent her from sinking deeper into the mud. Panicking, she did the one thing that came to her mind. "HELP!" she cried out.

Struggling against the uncomfortable and unbalanced weight, he moved forward. There was no direction in mind now. After all, this wasn't his homeland. He was completely unsure where to go or what to do. Heavy forepaws sunk into the freshly wet earth beneath him and even his tails dragged, despite remaining the fluffiest part of him. At this point, he just didn't have the energy to lift them. Letting out a dry cough, the Batujiwe shivered. Would he have to stay like this forever? The weight had left him once before, but he wasn't exactly sure why. He had no idea how to banish it now. Would he end up... crushed under the weight of his own-
Ears perked and head lifted, causing a great strain in his neck. What was that noise? Like sloshing... Through something thicker than water, but... The fact that it was so sudden and so close was enough to momentarily distract him from his pain. Sliding through the undergrowth, he peered between leaves until the cry for help sharply met his ears. Bright eyes widening, he moved forward just a bit further. If nothing else, the thought of someone in trouble scared him. He could still recall the vision of his mother about to get crushed under a falling tree... If even a stranger... The thought made him ill.
Inching out into a small clearing, a flash of green among muck met his eyes. Another Kitsusagi! And the mud... it looked strangely deep for just a puddle. Like the rain had filled a ditch in with dirt. "H-Hang on!" he called, stepping forward only to have one of his own paws squelch into the mud. Gasping, he pulled it back, a rather difficult task all things considered. Reminded of his weight again, he cringed, digging into the more solid earth at the mud's edge. But still... There was no way he could stop. Reaching out one of his stone claws, barely able to keep it raised, he called out again. "Hurry... Grab... Grab on!"
