Meloncoly and the Infinite Sadness by Smashing Pumpkins from my best freind when I was 16.
She knew I wasn't huge on SP and that I liked only ONE song from that album, and that I had specifically been BEGGING for The Beatles White Album (also a two disc album) so there it sat under thre tree for two weeks, and me dying to open it and listen to it and when the morning came and I opened it up I was like....um. emo
I never outwardly admitted that I was disappointed that she didn't get what I asked for, but she could tell, and I ended up buying the White Album myself with my Christmas money.

I got some like ornate candlesticks from a friend last year. She knows I'm scared of open flames. And she didn't do it as a joke. So...I dunno what she was thinking. They're...pretty I guess? Not really my style. I dunno, I just thought she knew me a bit better, been friends for like half a decade.
I guess it was especially disappointing after I had spent so long picking out her gift to make sure it was perfectly her taste. And I know she loved my present because she wears the bracelet, necklace, earrings and scarf that I gave her all the time.

The ugliest scarf known to man. I did not ask for a scarf. I did not need a scarf. I already had five or so scarves.

A cheap pair of scissors. One Christmas, that was about all I got. We weren't doing too well that year. >.>

My aunt doesn't realize that her style doesn't necessarily translate down to teenagers. She got me a pair of these beige potato sack (that's what it seriously looked like) capris that were 4 sizes too big and a mauve colored cardigan with poodles on it. <<'' I had to look happy when I opened it though.
Another one was when my dad wanted to be hip and buy me a fake designer purse. But this... it was horribly made. You could tell right away it was fake and probably only like 5 dollars. << The funny part was, when I tried to seem happy about it and I went to open it, the zipper broke.

Same s**t I get EVERY year. Christmas ornaments. I could decorate my own god damn small tree if I wanted.
Oh, and a gift certificate for some store so I could pick out China patterns...I was 16, wtf? My sister got one too, she bought a picture frame, then I combined what was left with hers, and my $50 to get a glass rose for my Grandma for her birthday.
I've gotten a bunch of other disappointing things, too many to remember. Um, a shelf...yeah, more lame s**t. xd

One of the most disappointing things I ever got was a flute that I bought with some Christmas money this year. I saw it at a pawn shop and when I looked at it, it looked fine (albeit tarnished). So I cleaned it up and scheduled a private lesson with a flute teacher...we spent half an hour trying to get it to play, and eventually decided that it needed about $100 worth of maintenance.
Best part is, none of the other shops around here will buy it from me, since one of the keys is broken and it didn't have a case.
Worst $30 I ever spent. >>

Ythan II Nothing because I'm not an ingrate. I'd be more grateful if my grandmother actually had some heart in the gift. It was thrown together from things she had leftover from Avon sales because we were having lunch that day. :\
