Spring was slowly coming to the forest, the dead leaves from winter were pushed from dens and burrows as the forest creatures awoke and emerged from their sleep. One particularly large pile of leaves settled near the bottom of an old oak tree and much to the startlement of a nearby squirrel suddenly the pile exploded outward.

A small ghostling sat giggling and blinking her magenta colored eyes looking over the brightly colored path. Happily she bounced up to her feet and dashed toward a newly blossomed violet; with an excited snicker she plucked the flower and ran down the path holding it high over her head letting it bounce with her movements.

Laughing again the little ghostling twirled and then let the flower fall. Blinking again she leaned back almost toppling herself over as she eyes looked toward a large manor house. Peering around herself she was still in the high grass like was found in the various wilderness meadows. This area seemed much like the meadows but someone had put this huge structure in the middle of it. Ember continued to watch it with wide eyes, during her very short time of living in the forest she had never seen anything like the manor house, she had never even seen anything man made.

Curiously Ember glanced back and forth before slowly moving forward toward the structure. Standing dark and quiet the manor loomed in front of her.
