DISCLAIMER The story starts at the very beginning of the game, instead of proceeding the game. Now many of you might be wondering why that is? To put it simply, it suits our purpose of the systems we are installing into the rp.
There has always been some speculation since the games launch that maybe most of it was a dream conjured up by Ultimecia. Well, we are taking it a little further, saying yes to the dream theory and embracing it with our own little flare. Yes, some of the system is much different from the original game. We are not looking to directly copy the game, but to reinterpret it in our own way, and your own way.
Granted, FF8 was a much under appreciated good game as it was, we still wanted to give players the opportunity to really take control of the character during a grand time of conflict. DURING THE EXAMS YOU ARE EXPECTED TO WEAR UNIFORM. Just so you know. Feel free to make custom outfits for your characters at a later date.
Remember that the Alpha phases are for testing out the game systems, including the stats, magazine, weapons, proficiencies and gil.
Story Summary
The story begins as you, the player, begin preparations for your SeeD final exam. You are from one of the three major Garden locations; Balamb, Galbadia, Trabia. And you have traveled here in hopes of finally completing the exam. Being here to take the exams, you are between the ages of 13-18. IC wise you are NOT REQUIRED TO PASS THE TEST, it is completely up to you.
Orientation will take you through much of the character creation process. However keep in mind that some CANNON characters will be unavailable until Beta, so please talk to Captains about which CC you want. Once you are done with orientation, you are expected to be active and communicate with your guild members and leaders.
