neko_erin_san ok idiots, smoking is bad, it kills people. it sux 5 reasons to quit -you'll smell horrid - health -family -dignity(it seems cool now, won't be later) -its just bad, no one likes to be around high people soo, quit both until further notice (health safe smoking)(tuba skills come back) hey i am the second best TUBA and my friend who is better than me smokes as well and he also plays TUBA so yeah i know i should quit but i find it kinda wired

I would definately say quit.
Whether the effects show up now or later, it will affect your breathing. And while many people can still play and play well even while smoking, they will never be able to reach the potential they could have had should they have chosen not to smoke. When playing a wind instrument, it all comes down to breath support. Smokers generally cannot hold onto pitches as long and have to stop for breath more often. Also, they generally cannot play as loud with a good tone as someone who doesn't smoke.
The difference that smoking causes can be the difference between good and great. So if you are able to quit, then I would definately suggest trying to do so.
