Happy St. Patrick's Day~
o.o I've been wondering, what do people do exactly?
PostPosted: Tue Mar 17, 2009 12:44 pm

St. Patrick's day has never been an important day in my family. That's probably because our family tree is essentially nonexistant. No one kept any good records about where we're from or anything like that. All I know is that on my mother's side of the family, we have a family crest and my grandfather moved away from his grandparents who lived in quebec. Before then, it's thought that they came from France or England... but no one really knows. On my father's side it's all northern European. So, essentially, I'm a pretty boring person. bla....

But we never celebrate. My family is usually working. o.o And they never drink (except at home) so it's not a big drinking day for us. It's like.... it doesn't exist! surprised

I think most Irish people celebrate by drinking themselves into a coma and/or eating corned beef and cabbage (which is actually pretty tasty!) I'm with you though, Chloie. My dad drinks maybe once every few months if he gets together with friends, and my mom takes communion and that's the only alcohol she drinks lol.

I might have Irish family. I know I have English, Norwegian, French, German, and Greek (and a little native american in there too!) but only because I had to do a 5 generation family tree for one of my classes last semester. I learned all sorts of interesting things about my family! lol

I am~

Although you can't tell from my last name (my dad says it's English...). I don't really celebrate it, though. Not only am I underage, I never really had any desire to drink. My mom always forgets to buy Corned Beef (LOLZ), and other than that... there's really nothing to celebrate. xD

Aside from that, aside from being mostly Irish (I have ancestors from 3 generations ago that immigrated here), I'm also English and German. That would actually explain alot of things that go on in my family... o.o;

Lol, nice! I recently discovered that cabbage actually wasn't that terrible. Both my mother and my father don't like it so i never really had a chance to eat it growing up. And, since they didn't like it they gave me this impression that it was the worst tasting food in the world next to beets and soggy mushrooms. (Actually I haven't had beets in a while. I should try them again.)

Well, it was at this highly acclaimed (and small spaced whee ) Japanese restaurant that I recently went to with Yama. I really liked it there. we each got a bento and there was cabbage underneath the Tempura. I'm not sure if I would go on and take a big bite out of it like an onion or an apple, but when its been kind of shredded like that its not that bad at all. Especially with the sauce on it too. >.> <3
