Nice idea, but can't do it. My mum will tell me to apologize just to make him happy, so that my home can be a place a bit less... war-like. With lots of "you youngsters do no care about the old people anymore! One day, you will be old too! We raised you, your ungrateful useless brat!" and so on... *sigh*

My father wishes I was a boy. I am reminded of it every time we speak. Even though I try really hard: I work on cars for a living, I go 4wding, sailing, canoing, mountainbiking and heaps of other boy stuff; I'm just never going to be my brother (who he loves to death and would do anything for).
He doesn't hug me, doesn't have discussions with me and realistically, if we didn't constantly need each other for stuff, like me fixing his car and him fixing my hot water system, I doubt we'd bother talking.
I ask him to come 4wding with me...he goes nahhh no time, doing something else. My brother (when he wasn't in jail) asks him and he jumps through hoops and cancels s**t just so he can go.
I yell at him a lot, because he treats mum poorly a lot, and always thinks he's right. I am the only one in my family that has ever stood up to him (methinks that's probably why he doesn't like me very much).
Maybe it's just a 'dad' thing?

I'm doing the same thing to my brother for eating my lolipops...it's one thing when I fight about candy it's another when they touch my candy...the a-hole is lucky I didn't hit him in the balls for touching them. Thts a sucky thing for people to do to their chidren. But hey if he doesn't see you for the nice and funny as hell person you are then blah to him. I remember like a 2 years ago tht me and my dad got in a fight because he would always make fun of my moms family, and as much as they piss me off, they're still my moms family and he has no right to hurt her feelings like tht, especialy when his family isn't all tht either. Then he man hadeled me then me older brother fought him cause he wouldn't let me go...anyways me is sorrys again

I'm very close to my dad, my mom always say that he got more 'mother instinct' than she does. xD
Oh, he has his faults too, and he had hurt my feelings, but he had never raised his hand on any of us.
Methinks the reason why I never had a boyfriend, was because my own dad set the standards too high. ^^; Unfair to compare, yes I know, but I can't help it...it's like when you've had the best, you won't settle for anything less. Errrr, I'm not looking for another dad, mind you. lol I just want to find a man like my dad who treats his wife and kids with all the respect and love he can give. whee

AWWWWSSSSSSSS VI THTS CUTE. i cant say the same for my dad...his black a** use to beat me ad my brothers all the time. not to say we didnt deserve it though i mean you try not beating your kids after they broke closet racks , dishes, closet doors, almost broke his fingers, damaged the wiring in the house....but anyways. yeahs i got to admit i love the poor b*****d as much as he treats me unfairly.
