*fixed ankle* well one of them

A drawing i did,
i did not take down the time sorry.
I know that the porportions are wrong.

i tried my best.
I have never really done a background before...
Please tell me what i need to fix.
Lol yes i know she doesnt have shoes on, im learning and i was to lazy to look for a reference xD
I think im improving a bit
Please try to only pay attention to the girl, i have no practice with backgrounds yet.
~After the help i received on the last pictures i tried working more on the size of the head. It does not look too big does it? I made the shoulders wider to avoid that.
One of the soulders look a little weird. The left one but i dont think it looks bad. That might only be because i drew it =
I need eyes that are not mine to examin it [=

Just so you know, most of the time double/triple posting is looked down on... especially that close to the original post...

Anyway, The isn't with the background isn't the actual drawing, but perspective. The angle of the person shows a more flat view while the background is showing an over head view. Also, there isn't much in the line of perspective in the background. (lines get closer together in distance, in yours they stay the same... though, this is a small background meaning there isn't much in the line of distance, but there still would be some.)

As far as the person is concerned, I don't see a bunch wrong. Mainly the feet. They need a lot of work at the ankle area. The toes are pretty good though.

Thank you, and srry for all the posts, i tried editing and it came out as a quote so i just posted new ones. Didnt know i could get in trouble for it. Thanks for telling me =)
Also thanks for the advice on perspective, i already knew about the part where the lines are sapposed to go smaller, it just looked kinda weird when i did it so i changed it back to just straight lines with the ruler. I will work on that soon.

Did you try to reverse the drawing, by mirroring the drawing you can spot all the flaws. ^^

Here are a free set of vector shapes that you can use to plot out perspective. Simply follow the guidelines, and you're good to go. You might also want to look up some perspective tutorials, if you're confused.

I keep trying to figure out where her left arm went. it can be placed on her lap or arm across her touching the table so she feels like she is in that space more. But not bad for a try on background.

Overall, I don't see any major flaws. Her pose looks comfortable and she seems to be in proportion.

The folds on her dress aren't quite natural though - you might want to draw the part of her dress hidden underneath her legs to figure out where the folds and curves go. Her left arm is also a bit misplaced, in my opinion - it should be a little more to the left in the picture.

Lastly, her palm is not resting against her head - is she supposed to be leaning on it, or is she only brushing the hair out of her face? If she's leaning on it, you'll have to move the hand closer to the face, and then curve the hair out of the way accordingly. Pain in the neck (so I personally never bother, heh), but I'm just nitpicking. biggrin
