It was late in the night, and someone in the traveling band was unable to sleep. It was still strange to her to be living anywhere else but the Pridelands and it showed. As Njozi moved silently away from the group of lionesses trying not to wake them her eyes slowly wandered. These lands were flat, seemingly empty. There was no where to hide out here, really, but she found that it also meant no one could really sneak up on you either.

The moon shone surprisingly bright above, though it might as well have been early afternoon. She could see in the dark just fine, not as well as some other creatures, but well enough, especially in this kind of light. There was so much on her mind that still stung so fresh. All four women in their group knew that Ausi'juu was dying, not right away, but she was starting that journey. It was especially hard on her children, and those that had known her the longest, to accept. Many of them had not even tried to imagine what life would be like once the Matriarch was gone. The sun would still rise and set, but the world would seem a colder place somehow all the same. Njozi's attachments to others were always fierce, but this was her mother...

Her figure was somewhat ghostly, as two of her sisters had been before her. She seemed much like a dejected spirit crossing the lands as she found herself a tree to curl up under, not sure how she was supposed to ever feel anything but this horrible, cold, aching emptiness at the very thought of the death of a loved one. At least the others had simply traveled away, could be found, visited, seen again...

"Mother..."

Traveling at night was not uncommon to the young male. He wouldn't say he liked it, but it wasn't too bad- particularly when the land out here was flatter then a river's bed. You barely needed to be conscious to transverse the empty and wary plains. Nothing like the jungle or the wood. Plenty of trees to knock into... that and any numerum of beasties.

So to some extent, Singh was half sleeping as he moved. So long as nothing entered his line of sight, there really wasn't anything to worry about. Not that he'd ever been very good at worrying.Almost at the thought, a low yawn stretched by his throat. It was enough to wake him up somewhat, and he took the chance to gaze around his setting with a bit more coherence.

Two days had gone by since he'd gotten entangled with the strange gypsy band. He'd heard his sister had been living with the two old lionesses- but unfortunately, she was on holiday. He had been hoping to perhaps catch her out in the flats like this. It would have been nice to see her after all this while- but as it happened, it wouldn't be his sister he'd find tonight.

Somewhere between half sleeping and casual looking, Singh found himself on the trail of a group of lionesses. At first he'd thought his sister might be among them- but once in sight it seemed clear that none of the lionesses seemed familiar. They seemed to be far traveled- and only one remained standing while the other's slept. Perhaps any normal lion would have left it at that- but, Singh was a curious sort. It didn't occur to him that a lonely group of lionesses might be startled by his sudden arrival. He was far too welcoming a sort himself to have that even tickle his mind.

So as he approached, he did so as though he knew the girl. There was no shyness or anything too abrupt- just steady, and oddly confident. "Hey!" he said softly, mindful of the sleeping females nearby. The one before him seemed pensive- but he assumed she was probably tired. "Are you guys traveling too?" He inquired, coming to a stop just before Njozi. Perhaps she was the lookout!

Njozi gave a slight start. She hadn't noticed the male coming until his stretched shadow came into view.

Oh, yes, she was quite the amazing lookout, wasn't she?

Straightening quickly she stared back at the male for a moment before proccessing the fact his words were actually friendly. Relaxing a bit, for one who had never known a single mean spirited stranger in her life, she piped up quietly, living up to her namesake as she took him in with bi-colored eyes.

"Yes... we're heading towards the land of the Mistweavers... Hello..."

Singh didn't seem to notice the brief apprehension. He was not a deceptive person- and perhaps too eagerly expected everyone to view him the same.

"Oh!" He said excitedly, as though suddenly everything was apparent to him. "I just came from there not long ago. Not a bad place. Are you mistweavers?" He asked, his bright eyes taking a considerate look at the female. She was a bit larger then the sort...but then, that black 'mistweaver' had been quite large! Perhaps it was just Mbweha and her cohorts.

"I'm Singh." He explained. "Lions there were skittish. Seems like they had some hard times. It's unfortunate to see them like that."
