How about an OOC planning subforum? The thread moves so fast it can be hard to keep up with stuff... but if there's a subforum where we could post threads about ideas for RPs and such... and plotting evil character things...?

I'd like to second Nikiana's suggestion, though perhaps with some staff moderation on general plot threads? Like only one harper hall plot thread or one healer hall thread etc...

could we have a place for non-rider journals? I like to keep track of my rps in my journal, but my poor lil' candidate and future non-rider characters can't have weyrs smile

I don't know how customing into clutches is going to work, but I personally would love there to be an option where you choose the colour, and then everything else you get is a surprise. Since this would be additional work for staff (or not; I'm not sure how you'd organize it) I, and I suspect other people, would be willing to pay more than the standard growing custom price (whatever that would be) for the service. That sounded silly and pretentious.
Tl;dr: You ought to make customs so we choose the colour but get everything else a surprise. I'd be willing to pay.

I have an idea. With you guys having 3 or 4 pages of character submissions, maybe should move approved older characters to Non rider journals and/or delete Impressed characters? Just to keep yourselves organized?

Maybe there could be a separate sub-forum for approved characters? That would help keep things in order.

I think it'd be nice to have a thread in the main guild forum, or added to the current Guide, with a list of crafts and what the craft entails. Especially for those new to the Pern series.
I'm suggestin because I've been on AIM with a friend who wants to create a character but doesnt know any of the crafts his character could potentially apprentice under. I know the guide contains a list, but someone not familiar with the Pern series really wouldnt know much of anything about the craft from name alone~ )
I wouldnt mind offering to put together the info~

I'd like to suggest a sign up, "roll call" for people wanting to participate in a specific hatching. I've seen many people in thread that want to sit out on a hatching (for plots and character development) it would make things easier on the staff and could happen at the same time as the Touching.

I think a stage chart for the dragons could be helpful -can't always differentiate between the different lines-

It would reduce some of the work Sil has to do digging through the candidate list picking out candidates to match with dragons, and would encourage somone who wants a dragon to at least pay attention to the shop, even if they don't want to RP/participate in anything, at least they'll be inclined to drop in from time to time. heart }~{
