I finally bought Withering to Death recently on a trip to the Mall of America in Minnesota. I never ear anything about this song. It's so mesmerizing! It's one of my favorites on this album. Discuss: This song, or any other song on Withering to Death.

Doesn't the song title mean "To you, in the deep blue sea" ? Or have I got it wrong?
It's such a sweet slow song. 3nodding

It means more like "the tragedy that closed the eyelids was a gentle depression." A lil' wtf, but pretty literal.
As in... what caused one to close their eyes.
And then... like a mental depression. But it's "yasashiki," so it has a gentle or kind, graceful, etc. feeling to it. Not sure what Kyo means there. Like a bittersweet kind of idea?
A rumor on what it's about:
"Kyo got a fanmail from a kid asking how a fan should end his life. Kyo didn't take it seriously. and ended up ignoring the letter all together. The kid end up killing himself and kyo was horrified when he found out that the kid wasn't joking. So he wrote this song about that kid. And from then on he doesn't read fanmail anymore in fear of getting another letter like that, and the guilt that he ignored it."
Not sure if that's true or what. I could believe it from the lyrics. They're heart-breaking.
("To you, in the deep blue sea" is actually the first line of the song :O)

I've never heard that rumor before. And all this time I thought it was just because Kyo's so detatched from the world. Hmmm.....
