The Voronwe can gain special powers once they reach the adult stage. Once a season, an event will be held in which adult Voronwe can ask the Goddess for the Gift of Power. If she deems the Voronwe worthy, it will be blessed with magnificent powers. If the Voronwe is male, elemental powers are to be expected; if female, psychic powers are received.
Regardless of if the Voronwe receive the Gift, males will still have exceptional strength, and all females will still have the gift of flight. Please note that only adults can receive the gift.
What powers are received?
Powers are related to the Voronwe's element. The elements are described here in the packs thread.
Does a Voronwe have to be in a pack to get the Gift?
No! Voronwe can join a pack, not join a pack, or leave a pack at any time.
Voronwe of different elemental abilities simply tend to often belong to an associated Elemental pack but it is not a rule.
Change my Voronwe change Packs, with the Gift?
If your Voronwe goes to a different Pack, they will lose their gift and may find themselves unable to obtain a new gift.
Can my Lagos get the Gift?
At this time, Goddess does not wish to share the Gift with Lagos. They may approach to request, but will ultimately be denied.
What does it have to do with the Seasons?
Once a season, as the balance between day and night changes, many Voronwe gather at the Temple of Pheidren, tucked in the edge of the mountains near the south coast. Most choose their season of choice to travel; with few making the journey more than once a year.
The specific days are pivotal to the worship of the Goddess; because it was traditionally on these days she was calmest, and easiest to approach. When the days and nights were of equal length; or when either day or night was at its longest, Pheidren was most at peace and most likely to grant requests.
