we got different stuff throughout the band.
percussion: on toes only, tries best not to bend knees
guard: pretty much just jazz running . . .
marching band: roll-step, Cavaliers style i think . . .

Roll step usually but for drum line we do toe down

Roll step, even when marking time and stepping out for music play-offs. Toes for backwards. Not sure about other instruments, but flutes/clarinets generally walk during parades, since we're at the very back. In fact, one of our clar. section leaders decided to constantly switch between the flutes and clarinets at our MLK parade, which was his last. He was out of the "form" so much that it was actually pretty funny.

roll step, but we usually mark time when not moving (sometimes we halt for dramatic effect)

they never really told us what the proper name for our marching style is...
i know we must roll our feet, have straight legs with slight bendsi n the knees at times.
we are a mix of two...
i think its straight leg and bent knee or something.
when we move backwards, we walk on our tippitoes.
arghhh... i dont know. but i do know its tiring.

Roll step. On the balls of our feet during backwards marching. Slow technique too.
According to our visual director, knee high marching takes too much energy. We are supposed to not bend our legs that much if possible

we do high step...we are a show band so we do that alot...we kinda walkin time when paradeing untill we do a cadence or a song. when we do songs we either do high step or sway. we mark time alot lol.
our cadences are:
Funk
Doctor
Cherry
Tequila
Jimbo
jym shorts
Uncertin
and Mother
