Maranan smiled. "Sure why not. Oh I heard of that ship. My Captain liked your Captain. He said he was good people." He walked over to where everyone was gathered and smiled. "Mind if we help?"

"It is a nice day out," M'zaji was quick to agree with the candidate his blue had searched. He, too, glance skywards as if to reaffirm his answer. The sky was still bright blue, a few fluffy, white clouds floating by. The sun was still hanging high; it was still a nice day! M'zaji laughed then, nodding his head in agreement. "Oh, it is a lot to wash. But, washing your dragon is a great time for bonding and learning," M'zaji said, his tone suddenly turning a bit informative. Tseka was a candidate after all, right? So, why not give her a quick lesson? M'zaji glanced towards the shore, at the other people milling about. By their shoulder knots, he realized that they were all candidates. The bluerider laughed, and beckoned them all over. He might as well include everyone!

Kaedrelath warbled happily at having so many hands to help wash him. The blue dragon blissfully lay still, allowing his washers to move around his body without any sort of hindrance. Xythe and Daeok's ministrations on his neck and eye ridges were absolutely wonderful, and the blue let them know with a thankful series of chirps. Kaedrelath opened one eye to peek back at Tseka, amused that the girl found his discovery of bubbles so endearing. A tentatively friendly voice caught his attention though; without really realizing who was greeting him, Kaedrelath offered a warm and throaty bugled back to Ceylith. << Afternoon! Won't you come join us? There's more than enough lake for everyone, >> he was hasty to assure the green she could join them for bathing.

"Kae... Kae!" M'zaji said loudly to his dragon, prying his blue's attention away from Ceylith. "Figures, going all ga-ga over some green?" M'zaji teased, patting Kaedrelath's shoulder affectionately. "Extend your wing, caaarefully! Don't knock anyone over!" M'zaji said, then warned his blue as the dragon began to throw out his wing without first checking if anyone was standing in the way. Once it was completely unfurled, M'zaji reached out to slosh sudsy water all over the blue's wingback. He looked to Tseka then, and smiled. "If you Impress, bathing your dragon will be one of the most cherished moments you two have together. It's really easy to just get lost in one another," he admitted with a chuckle.

Ceylith’s memory, sadly, wasn’t quite as good as Kaedrelath’s. The Green blinked her wide blue eyes at Kallista a few moments, vaguely remembering that she had once met the girl and that she liked her. That, she decided, was good enough for her as she sent a friendly noise at the Runner as well. She nudged her rider to get his attention, although it was hardly necessary. Look, C’ren! It’s… it’s… Kale? she tried to remember the Runner’s name anyway, taking a slight stab in the dark.

Kallista, C’ren answered reluctantly looking away from the Blue and fluttering firelizards to wave at the Candidate. Some small part of his mind wondered how she was adjusting to her new life, but it was small and easily ignored.

You’re going soft! was Ceylith’s delighted response to these thoughts. Pleased that the other dragon had actually responded to her presence----and wasn’t adverse to sharing the lake with her and her rider----she went off to be social, still determinedly carrying the brush. Thank you for your kind welcome! And good afternoon to you and yours as well. Don’t mind mine; he’s perpetually grumpy. I’m Ceylith, and he’s C’ren. Oh, and that’s Vox. The fat flitt.

Also, he was annoyed that Ceylith had just carried off the brush. Ceylith! I can’t clean you if you wander off with the brush! Come on, drop it. What ensued was a rather dramatic game of tug-of-war. Actually, it wasn’t that dramatic; a twenty-foot dragon could easily overpower the rider, but Ceylith wanted to play. And this seemed like a delightful game to the Green right now. She didn’t want to end it too easily… C’ren pouted and tugged on the long handle before digging his heels into the ground. Honestly, what were they? Weyrlings?! This was not a game that adults were supposed to play!

Even if it was sort of fun.

Tseka mused on something, chewing her lip and tilting her head to the side a little as she reflected. Quickly though, her smile returned, brilliant as day, and a hearty, light laugh to go with it. "I feel bad for the people who have to wash Bronzes and Queens!" She shook her head, never pausing in her scrubbing of Kaedrelath. At the arrival of another rider and dragon, however, she felt the need to make at least some kind of gesture. She scratched with one hand, but pivoted a little, to wave to the pretty little green, and her rider, who looked a little put-off that he was having to wrestle with her over the brush. But oh how cute they looked! It was such a darling scene...

Before she'd become a candidate, she'd never thought much about dragons. They were monstrous lizards, who fought thread and breathed fire. When Xythe and Daeok became hers though...she began to get a different idea of dragons, if indeed they were, like the rumors said, like giant firelizards. These weren't just beasts. Dragons took on individual personalities, had feelings and thoughts and...were a lot smarter than she'd ever have thought. What impressive creatures!

She was careful to hold her balance and poise, even as she was suprised as Kaedrelath opened his wing for grooming. She took less soapsand for this job, applying it more delicately, scrubbing more carefully. She didn't see Kaedrelath as fragile. Not in the slightest. But it was only assumable that a thiner skin such as wing skin would be more sensitive. She adored the soft feel of it, the warmth.

"I can only hope I do. If bathing my dragon would be half as amusing as bathing Kaedrelath...I think I would enjoy it very much." She gestured up at Xythe and Daeok. "And I think they would enjoy it too."

Xythe and Daeok were still cleaning Kaedrelath, but they were being to get distracted. They had remained focused longer than Tseka had thought though. They were beginning a game, which consisted of little more than hurling little gobs of soapsand at each other. Xythe squeaked as she spotted a newcomer. Another fried to play with, to get into trouble with! She trumpeted a little firelizard hello at Vox, inviting him to come play.

So far, Kallista had managed not to get wet with all the dragons and flits splashing about. Not to say she wasn't willing to help clean a dragon but she would wait until circumstances made it where she had no choice. Instead, she listened with interest as the blue dragon's rider started talking about cleaning techniques. She had heard that dry skin was a very big hazard for dragons and that they had to be oiled as well to keep the skin soft and supple.

A little shivver traveled down her spine as C'ren half waved back to her. However, once Ceylith began the race to the waters and then started with a game of tug, Kallista could not keep quiet any longer. She laughed out loud and happily, obviously envious but in a good way, of C'ren's relationship with his dragon. Part of her longed to have a bond that strong. Though, if she didn't Impress it wouldn't make such a big loss to her. Tugging her sandals off, Kallista moved towards the water's edge and waited to see what would happen.

"Ceylith! If you don't give up the brush, you will never get clean. Wouldn't you like to be all nice and clean and oiled?" She asked the green dragon who didn't seem in the mood to give up her brush anytime soon.

Ceylith shook her head a few times, once again seeming very much like an overlarge puppy. The trick was to keep her jaws from clamping down on the handle too much and breaking it. She was already leaving tooth-marks on the wood, something that would upset the neat and clean C’ren. All of the fun and play stopped, momentarily, as Kallista appeared on the scene. It was like she ventured into their world, their own little universe. An outsider, actually. Ceylith snorted and then gave the brush a few more tugs, just enough to get C’ren back into the game.

“Nice try, Kallista. I’m afraid that once she gets her mind on something, it’s hard to get her back out of it,” C’ren said, almost sounding apologetic.

You and me both! Ceylith remarked to her rider happily, pleased that he was actually speaking----interacting!----with another human. Alright, so maybe she was a little jealous that C’ren was paying attention to someone else, but… hey. She got his attention 100% all of the other times. A few minutes wouldn’t harm anyone. An idea popped into her mind. At C’ren’s next sharp tug, Ceylith promptly let go of the brush, allowing the laws of physics to take over. The Green bounced away with a chortle as her rider stumbled backwards, her eyes swirling with green and blue.

As the dragon suddenly released, C’ren won the battle of the brush. Unfortunately, he lost some dignity as he was forced to take a few steps backwards to avoid landing on his a**. “See what I mean? She’s nothing but a load of trouble,” he remarked drily, trying to capture the effect of ‘I totally meant to do that’. With one free hand, he brushed his shirt lightly, attempting to regain whatever he had just lost. “She remembers you, you know. Well, most of you. She very nearly remembered your name too.”

Vox blinked at the game and took a few steps back, chirping anxiously. Only after watching the other two flitts play did he seem to get an idea of the game. With a delighted chitter, a miniature version of Ceylith’s happy chortle, he scooped up a handful of the foaming sand as his own weapon. But the fat flitt tired quickly due to his weight. Zipping after the other firelizards tired him out until he had to rest on the Blue dragon for a while.

Maranan wandered to the green and rubbed some soapsand into it's shoulder. It was so much different from the deck of a ship, but it was a similar motion. "I hope you don't mind."

After Dusen's initial eagerness, he become suddenly shy as he approached the two large dragons. It wasn't the dragons that intimidated him, but rather the riders. He wasn't used to being around so many different people.

He looked over at Mararan, and moved to join him although he didn't touch the dragon. "Can I help?" he asked the green's rider.
