Ever since I got my Fender acoustic, I LOVE playing just easy going chords or picking. I'm also trying to get stronger fingers for more complex bar chords.

Alternate Picking. Almost everything can be done with it. Straight downstrokes are also awesome for the metal power in them twisted

Rain Vulcan Sweep picking is awesome for those fast, double-pedal backed songs. cool -Rain All in moderation. Some bands kill it and it kinda sucks when they do because then it just conveys that they are hiding their lack of musical creativity behind their technical capability. But to each his own. That just my two cents on that.

I give em props for the skill but sometimes the song suffers.

I dont have to patientce to sit around and learn fancy jazz chords and their names, and ive never really understood Modes either, and im not coardinated enough to do 8 finger tapping licks hahaha Buuuut When it comes to bendin' the s**t out of them strings, Im your man. Im also REALLY good at 3, 4 and 5 string sweeps for some reason, But the 6th string tends to alude my grasps stressed

slurring (hammer-on/lift-offs) and sliding. Those are always fun, especially when you're playing around with blues and pentatonics. Bending is fun too, but I don't enjoy it nearly as much as sliding.
