{ The People You May and Do Need to Know }

In this roleplay, there are people from the game Umineko no naku koro ni that will be mentioned and used, and you need to know who they are and things about them. So I'll list them here:

User Image
•Beatrice
Also known as Golden Witch, the Witch in Gold, or the Endless Witch, Beatrice is a witch who has lived for over a thousand years. She is said to appear as a cloud of golden butterflies, and has the power to summon higher demons among the seventy-two pillars to serve her. It is said that humans can summon her and get their wish granted in exchange for compensation, though she often acts whimsically. Her "Endless Magic" allows her to kill anyone indefinitely, by killing and resurrecting them endlessly, regardless of the methods or circumstances.

User Image
•Bernkastel
She is also known as the Witch of Miracles. It is said she resides in a world where concepts such as fate and probability can be visualized. She appears to see Beatrice's game to ease her boredom. She assists the player by giving some hints around the workings of the game. Her "Magic of Miracles" allows her to reset a desperate situation as long as the probability of a favorable situation isn't equal to zero.

User Image
•Lambdadelta
Another witch who fought Bernkastel in a "game" in the past. Despite that she is quite childish and holds a grudge against Bernkastel for finally beating her in their last game, she actually cares for Bernkastel. She is also known as the Witch of the Absolute and The Most Powerful Witch in the Universe before losing to Bernkastel. She is the most powerful witch next to Bernkastel, and is feared by most other witches, including Beatrice. Her "Magic of Certainty" allows her to kill anyone without fail, as an absolute result.

User Image
•Stakes of Purgatory
The Seven Stakes of Purgatory are the weapons which are said to be controlled by Beatrice. There are seven of them, named after the corresponding demons of the seven sins. The Stakes of Purgatory are described as being inescapable. Only powerful mages can control the Stakes of Purgatory, but they cannot hurt any who have not committed the sins, or have strong magical resistance. They can also bounce off walls and anything blocking their way, able to attack from any angle. In Turn of the golden witch, the Stakes of Purgatory first appeared in human form, taking the shape of young girls, each with a different personality, but all have red irises. They can be distinguished through hair styles and colors, and also known as the 'Sisters of Purgatory'.

User Image
•Siestas
The Siestas are bunny-girl servants summoned by Beatrice. It is said that there is no escape from the Siestas attacks, and they can even locate and bring back a corpse. They have red eyes, bunny ears, and elaborate military-styled outfits.

[ A Message from Your Host... *cackle cackle cackle* ]

User Image
"Hahahahaha... it seems I have some new toys to play with. Some poor people have landed on my island. I feel so sorry for them. Hmm? What's this?"

User Image
"It seems that my toys aren't all human. As a matter of fact, only two of the eight are! How fascinating! Let's see here....two mutts, two leeches, two humans, and... ah~ What is it we have here?"

User Image
"Two witches! Ah, it seems I may have a little competition here! Well, probably not, these two don't seem as old as I am... but perhaps. You can never underestimate your opponents."

User Image
"Who knows! Maybe I'll have some actual trouble this time. Scratch that, I can't lose to those weaklings! Besides, there are only 8 of them, 2 of them practically useless. I have many forces on my side!"

User Image
"Excuse me! I've forgotten to introduce myself. I am the great Beatrice. Otherwise known as the Golden Witch. I live on this island of Rokkenjima. If you're smart, you won't enter my territory without being prepared to face the challenge of your life. I guess you could say I don't take too kindly to strangers. Don't get me wrong, I do have friends. My two best ones are Lady Bernkastel and Lady Lambdadelta. Ah, my two new 'guests' remind me so much of the two. Complete opposites, yet so close. Even if Lambdadelta wants to destroy Bernkastel half of the time. I am not the only one who inhabits this island. I also have many followers that help me in my games. My favorite helpers are my beautiful Seven Stakes of Purgatory. They do have some weaknesses, though. Only powerful mages can control the Stakes of Purgatory, but they cannot hurt any who have not committed sins, or have strong magical resistance. I'm afraid my Stakes may not be able to hurt the witches, although I'm sure the others will be no problem.*Cackle Cackle Cackle*"

User Image
"I suppose I've told you enough for now. I will let my guests get settled in for today, try to see if they can find the old Ushiromiya Mansion for shelter, then strike sometime tonight. Ahahahahaha! This shall be fun! Prepare, my pawns. Get ready, for you shall enter my game tonight!!! *Cackle Cackle Cackle*!!!"

Madison stood by her sister, Carrissa, lightly leaning herself towards the Humans. The two large men that stood in front of her looked like they were about to phase. Madison could tell, she had met Shapeshifters before."Do you think they'll...," she trails off, whispering to her older sister. Madison was worried about these Humans. She didn't want them to get hurt on accident by the two Shapeshifters. She also, though, didn't want to reveal herself so quickly by putting a shield around them either.

That's when Madison sensed it. She felt a strong supernatural presence from somewhere else on the island. A witch, she thought to herself, and a powerful one at that. She changed her direction to that of where the feeling was coming from. Madison tugged on the arm of Carrissa's shirt.
"Can...Can you feel that?!" She asks, her voice raising a bit. She wasn't paying attention to keeping their secret now, though. Madison was only paying attention to the general direction where one of the most powerful witch was. She hadn't ever felt something so strong before, not like this. She was terribly nervous. What if the witch found them? What if they weren't a good witch was a better question. The three young men and one lady around myself, they'd all be killed for sure! Carrissa would also.... No! No, no, no! I can't let that happen! Madison's thoughts were racing. She had the the tendency to get upset in dangerous situations. She realized she was clutching her older sister's shirt sleeve harder now, so she loosened her grip. Madison focused her senses on the not-as-powerful vampires on the other side of the island. She gave a half-hearted smile. "Well, we're in quite a rough spot, aren't we?" she says to the group around herself, trying to lighten the atmosphere.

Senses were going haywire as event after event flashed passed Carrissa. First was the landing in the island. And then the presence of both Shapeshifters and their enemy the Vampires. And now the treat of the Shapeshifteres phasing in front of them, in front of the humans that are for sure do not have a clue of what is going on in front of them. As her sister leaned towards the humans for protection, Carrissa faced the Shapeshifters, ready to use any magic that she needed to keep the two males in front of her from going on a rampage from the scents of the vampires on the other side of the island. A concentrated frown crept its way onto Carrissa's face as she focused all her energy and magical ability on thinking up a few spells and other ways to keep them back. Unfortunately, it was a tad harder than she thought since her little sister was distracting her with questions. Chancing a moment to avert her eyes from her possible opponents, Carrissa turned her gaze towards her sister and then blinked. She had sensed something before Carrissa could. So, taking her attention away from trying to fight back the Shapshifters, she turned towards the direction of the heavy woods and cleared all five of her senses to feel what her sister had felt.

Dark hazel eyes widened as Carrissa felt the presence of a being far more powerful than Madison and she put together. Almost instantly, Carrissa turned her full attention from the Shapeshifters towards the presence. She then brought herself in front of Madison, all the while ignoring the grip she had on her sleeve. "Madison, calm down. Get the humans to shelter. It would be wise if you used your power to at least put them into a sort of sleep state. I don't want them awake when we deal with this--" A rustle in the bush caught Carrissa's attention, causing her to stop mid-sentence. The strong presence didn't grow stronger, so Carrissa concluded that the rustling wasn't that much of a threat. Bringing her attention towards her sister, Carrissa's mind reeled over idea after idea. One of her ideas was to get all six of them away from the shore before this supernatural being appeared and caused mayhem. But then her eyes turned towards the Shapeshifters and she felt that they had a possible advantage. Unless this strong supernatural presence was the Golden Witch that Madison seemed to be obsessing over for quite a while now. The hazel eyes widened even more at this sudden thought.

Bringing her complete attention towards her sister, Carrissa held a tight grip on Madison's shoulders and shook her into attention. "Mads, look at me. Tell me all you know about the Golden Witch, and fast," she whispered, almost nose to nose with her sister as she began to panic a bit. The presence was growing stronger every minute. It was as if this being was advancing towards them and they didn't have enough time to pause on a moment, or in Madison's case, joke around. "Madison Lynn Grey, stop smirking like that and tell me all that you know! Damnit, if this witch that's coming towards us is this Golden Witch you've been obsessing about, you're going to have to tell me what you know and fast. I don't want to risk the life of those Shapeshifters if my plan goes down the drain," she snared at her sister, losing her patience. As she waited impatiently for her sister to respond to her question, Carrissa sensed the Vampires again. They were still on the other side of the island, but this distance, according to her senses was not that far to travel. If Carrissa, or Madison, brought the vampires over to their side of the shore, the Shapeshifters might actually phase. And then Carrissa would use this advantage of having these four creatures on their side to get the humans out of here before the being that was coming their way would hurt them all. She felt strong enough to fight against this being, but not for a long amount of time. With her strength and energy at the moment, and then the calm demeanor that this being seemed to be giving off, Carrissa had approximately about five or so minutes to fight it back and give the others time to escape. But that meant that she would be injured. Which would result in Madison getting-- Turning her gaze back towards the forest, Carrissa was in a tough situation.

There were two ways of getting both the Humans and the Shapeshifters out of this dilemma. One was having the Shapeshifters fight on her side against this being for a short amount of time to give Madison and the Humans enough time to escape. Or, Carrissa and Madison stay behind while the Shapeshifters and Humans escape. Either way, Carrissa was not going to pass this moment to fight. She never turned away from an opportunity like this. With a sigh, she turned to look at her sister with a serious smirk on her lips. "Madison, I need your input. But first off, do you think you're strong enough to be my defense? I don't mean to put you into such a battle that would possibly hurt you badly, but it's the only way those four," she nodded towards the Shapeshifters and the Humans, "can get out of here without knowing what we are. Plus, if those two guys get away from here, they might not phase like they want to right now." Her words were coming out without even thinking twice about them. But as the situation grew more and more intense and the surroundings were growing more and more compacted with stress, Carrissa had no time to think. "Wait here. Try to get those four into a sleeping state!" she blurted out as she turned towards the direction of the forest.

Carrissa decided in finding those Vampires she sensed a moment ago. Even though she feared leaving her sister, Carrissa had Madison's safety at heart. This may turn into a stupid idea, but who knows, it might work out in the end. The sound of rustling trees blew passed her ears as she focused on the scents of the two Vampires. Her running steps made no sound on the soft ground under her, even if she was running in heels. Before the ship had sunk. Carrissa had been in a party with Madison. Surprisingly, the human male was in that party as well, and they had been conversing before she and Madison left. As she ran, Carrissa had made her apparel much more suitable to run in by removing the sleeves and extra fabric that would slow her down. And as for the long skirt she had worn, it was ripped off until the skirt hung five to six inched from her knee. Her blouse was now a simple tank top. The only thing that remained untouched was her heels. And also the pair of laguiole knives that rested in the front left pocket of her skirt. Continuing to run, Carrissa kept her senses open for any sign of the being or the Vampires. She still had a long way to run.

Suddenly, a large number of giggles came from the east. Carrissa stopped in her tracks instantly and turned her gaze towards the sound. Her body tensed as she felt the first bit of her powers begin to rise to the tips of her fingers. "Who's there?!" she called out, bringing her hands up from either side of her. The giggles grew louder, causing Carrissa to grow all the more angrier. With a small growl, she ran towards the noise but after her twentieth step, the giggling stopped completely. Carrissa stood in a small clearing, her eyes and ears working away to either catch a glimpse of the beings responsible for the sounds or to hear the giggling again. But there was nothing, just complete silence. "Where are you?! Show yourself you cowards!" she called out, urging those beings to come out. And then there came the giggling again. A gasp, and Carrissa was instantly in a state of defense as her whole body tensed up more. Her eyes turned from side to side while her ears attempted to take in every moment around her. But the giggling stopped yet again. Whatever is on this island, they are playing games with my head. I can't let them get the better of me. I have to find those Vampires so I can go back to Madison. With a deep breath, Carrissa took a step back and then began to run the direction she had gone earlier before the distraction. Even as she ran and concentrated of finding those Vampires, Carrissa still felt that there were things watching her every move. And the supernatural presence was gone, or more like very faint. This worried Carrissa, causing her to run even faster no matter how much her lungs were protesting against it. For precaution for her own safety, Carrissa had taken out both of her knives and held them tightly just in case she was to be put into a battle with someone or something. The blades shined under the sun that peeked through the leaves of the trees. But Carrissa had a feeling that they were going to be shining with red sometime soon, whether it be her blood or someone else's.

:: Athene Bel{ladon}na Sharpe ::

[mood=annoyed]You do not piss me off unless you wanna be mincemeat. [/mood]

User Image “What the hell happened? One moment we were on that stupid ship and the next we’ve flew out of the ship and are swimming for our lives.” Huffing and puffing like a spoiled child, Athene went on and on and on. Anybody who heard her would be covering their ears, waiting for the time bomb in front of them to explode. But, no. Athene wasn't one to "explode" that easily. She strode off towards one of the distant hills and reached there within minutes. She wasn't angry with her brother. She was just very frustrated. She had dyed her hair just yesterday; she had to dye it every few days because her venom would actually destroy the hair dye and her hair colour would turn back to dull black. And now her brother had gotten it wet by pushing her into the sea, it would then fade faster than ever and she don't exactly have any hair dye with her. She wasn't vain, but she was proud of her looks.

She was still thinking about the matter when she heard a chilling cackle that creeped her out. Yikes, what the hell was that? When she cocked her ear to hear some more, she heard a loud voice coming from the forest near to the hill.
"Where are you?! Show yourself you cowards!" Athene frowned she hated it when someone, no matter who that person is called her a coward. But she didn't want to rush into a fight in which she could hurt someone. "Who the hell are you calling a coward?" Athene hurled into the forest. She followed her voice and walked slowly into the forest. She concentrated her senses on the someone, something in front and she caught a whiff of something that she detested. Werewolves! It smells like those two bloody mutts that harassed us on the ship. What are they doing here? Look, I don't know who you are and frankly, I don't exactly care. However, can you please don't attack me when you see me? I don't want to hurt you. " Athene said as she spied a girl running in the forest, hands carrying two daggers, one on each hand. The blades would have no effect against her skin, but if the girl did anything to her, Athene have no choice but to attack.

Madison listened to Carrissa as she spoke, slightly noticing that the others were a bit confused at what they had been saying. She nodded, trying to relax herself. "I'll do that," Madison tells her sister, beginning to focus her energy on the four surrounding the two. It took a few minutes for her ability to take full effect, but she could notice them starting to become somewhat drowsy. She turns to the bush, startled, when she hears rustling, but notices Carrissa ignores it, so Madison does as well. She jumped when her sister put her hands on her shoulders and started shaking Madison. She paid attention to her sister as she spoke. Madison's eyes widened as well at the thought of the Golden Witch. She had never thought of that. Is it really possible...?! I've been searching for her for all this time.... I should have known by my research! Stupid, Stupid, Stupid! she thought.

"Her name is Beatrice. Some titles she goes by, though, are the Golden Witch and the Endless Witch. When she appears somewhere, there are golden butterflies around. Uh, she's lived for a long time, over one thousand years, I heard. She has many... ah... henchmen, I guess you could call them. She mostly uses the 'Seven Sisters of Purgatory', which are basically 7 girls that each represent a sin. They all fight with these arm sword things. I didn't get much detail on that. She also loves to send out her Siestas, seeing as they hardly ever come back without a corpse. They look like regular girls, too, except for that they have rabbit ears, and a rabbit tail. Beatrice also has the ability to kill and resurrect a person endlessly," Madison informed her sister with a serious look on her face. Now that she knew that it was a possibility, she was trying to focus. She knew that, from her research, Beatrice was a very powerful witch. Madison stared her sister straight in the eyes when she replied.

"I'm ready for this, Carrissa" she says, no hesitation in her voice. Here it was, an opportunity for Madison to prove to her sister that she was strong enough to fight along side with her, but this situation was not the best. The chance of them dying - the word caused Madison's heart to skip a beat - was pretty high, probably 65 out of 100. This fact also, though, helped to urge Madison to fight with Carrissa. There was a big chance that they would be hurt, and she was not going to sit back while her sister fought the whole thing by herself. Madison noticed Carrissa running into the forest.

"Carri-" she says, but cuts off knowing that her sister can no longer hear her. She sighs, looking towards the others, noticing the concerned and confused looks on the still shaking shape shifters' faces. She groans and smacks her palm against her forehead. Of course! Carrissa said they had really good hearing, they probably picked up on part of our conversation, she thought. She looked to them, then whispered.

"I'll tell you later," she says, nodding her head towards the two, now unconscious, humans. They both nodded, still confused, but an understanding look in their eyes. Madison assumed that they both had to keep their secret, too. She then noticed something. Wait a second! Shouldn't they be asleep?! Darn. Maybe they were immune or something, she guessed. Madison looked to the sky, noticing a seagull flying over the island. Suddenly, she remembered something.

"Oh!" Madison exclaimed out loud, ignoring the weird looks she received from the two tall men. That's it! I can't believe I forgot! "The Golden Witch lives on the Island of Rokkenjima, also home to the estate of the Ushiromiya Family. Their legend on the island is probably the most famous of all. The grandfather, Kinzo, received 10 tons of gold from the witch, and built a large business. He built an estate on the Island, where every year, his family came to visit for a weekend. On one visit, Kinzo Ushiromiya finally performed the ritual, sacrificing his whole family (including himself) to revive the witch. They were all killed off by the witch and her followers. The Estate was left abandoned, and was never found for fear of the Golden Witch." The Estate! Food! Shelter! More information on Beatrice! Madison was elated. Finally, she was able to do something useful. She looked to the two shape shifters, her eyes dancing with excitement.

"Hurry, you two! Pick up the two that are unconscious, and carry them! Follow me! I know where shelter is!" Madison says, her voice filled with excitement as well. Then she remembered Carrissa. She looked around, and found a stick on the ground. Madison runs to it, and draws a circle with
many magical symbols around it in the sand where she stood. She muttered for the two shape shifters to turn around, and they did. Madison bit her thumb, and squeezed it until a little blood came out. she pressed her thumb to the middle of the circle, and it lite up for a second, then went back to just a drawing in the sand. Madison smiled. She then took a stick in the ground and wrote out a quick message for her sister.

'Carrissa. I remembered something about this island. There's an estate not too far from here. I took the others and went to go find it. The two humans are out cold, but the shape shifters are somehow immune to that ability. Another interesting fact for you, huh Carrissa? Anyway, press your thumb on the circle. You'll be able to find me. We'll be waiting for you. -Madison' Madison pulled back and reread her note, then approved of it. She stood up from her crouched position, and looked to the others. The serious tone was back again.

"Follow me. I have an idea where shelter is. Food, too," she explains. They nod, and the group starts off into the forest.

[[OOC: I had to change the story of the Ushiromiya family for the sake of the roleplay. In the real game, they don't all die, but the Witch is resurrected.]]
