 The days were getting boring, and though Verix hated to admit it, she rather missed the old days with her uncle. At least back then, it was interesting; he always tried to get her to study, to be good, something Verix scoffed at.
Now that she had freedom to do what she wanted to do, she seemed to be passing each day with the same timetable. Go out, kill, bully Harumi, talk with Derix, kill, clean her blade, wreck stuff, kill. It wasn't even fun to go and look for her enemy anymore.
Now Verix sat, polishing her blade slowly, an irritated expression on her face. If only something interesting would happen.

Interesting clearly had plans. With a crash, Nexis came tearing out of the underbrush, all sorts of sticks clinging to his fur and his ribbons all askew. "Hi, sis!" he yelped, and banked a sharp turn around her to cower behind Verix in fear.
He said something that sounded like "******** second, smaller and lighter body came crashing out of the woods, equally messy.
"Brother!" cried Xunf sharply. She eyed the older kitsu in front of her. "Brother was just here."
She sniffed and went to circle Verix. Nexis bolted away again.
"Wuss!" cried Xunf, and took off after him.

A blue-haired kitsu pushed himself through the shrubbery, grumbling to himself. He hadn't eaten all day, and the infernal growling of his stomach was getting on his nerves. A hungry Derix was not a happy Derix.
The kitsu poked his head out from behind a tree, sighing as he spotted his sister. "Oi, Verix," he called, strolling out towards her, " How long are you gonna sit there poli--"
Derix involuntarily took a step back as his older brother suddenly came crashing out of the bushes, a smaller kitsu hot on his tails. He watched the odd scene for a moment with raised eyebrows before opening his mouth to make a snide comment... which was promptly interrupted by another figure bursting out from the leaves.
"Out of my way!" Xechs barreled into Derix, using him as a stepping stone to project himself towards Nexis and Xunf's direction and kicking him over the head with a metal boot in the process. Derix doubled over and clutched his head in pain, spouting a stream of curses after the retreating figures.

"What in the..." Verix began, narrowing her eyes at the sight of her older brother. He certainly did not look like he was winning the fight he was apparently in, a fact Verix disapproved highly of. There wasn't a need for more failures in her family, in her opinion. Now, who was this supposingly intimidating one he was fighting?
She stared as the smaller one appeared, a smirk appearing on her lips. Oh hell no. Nexis was losing to a smaller girl... and his sister, no less. The smirk grew. Oh, things were looking to be positively interesting. When did mother get with dad again? Really, his better side only surfaced during the full moon, if only mother had the better sense to see that.
"So," She murmured, grinning as she hefted her weapon up. "I'm not the youngest now, after all." The tanned kitsu turned sharply to face Derix, cocking an eyebrow at him. "Well, what are you waiting for?" She asked, before starting off after the three, hot on the heels of Xechs and Xunf.
