"Buddy!.... Hey Buddy! Could I get another mug here?"
Roddik glanced up at the jivvin in front of him. He was a young man, curly red hair and lots of freckles, standing on the other side of the bar. Roddik wondered for a second why the barman was asking him for a beer, and then re realized that he was the one standing on the serving side. So with a glance around for the real barman, Roddik poured the redhead a mug, and then poured one for himself. Smiling, he slid the mug to the other jivvin.
"Thanks" Kamin took the mug with a forced smile, and plunked a small coin down on the bartop. Glanceing over his shoulder at the door, he took a large swig from his new mug.
"Waiting for someone?" Roddik leaned on the bar, took the coin up in his fingers without really thinking about it, and looked over the room. There weren't that many jivvins here, maybe two or three other than the redhead and himself. The bartender was nowhere to be seen, but at this hour in the day there would only be one or two people on shift in the tavern, and if they were needed elsewhere then of course they wouldn't be here. That seemed like good logic to Roddik.
"Um." Kamin turned and gave the barman a slight smile again, this time more real. "Kind of." Truth was, he was hoping that a girl he'd stood up would meet him here, though she probably wouldn't since she was a new girl... she'd walked in on him and an old girl... Kamin shook his head. "More hopeful than anything. She won't come in here."
"Ahh." Roddik nodded and took his mug in his hand

Roddik jerked his head suddenly to one side, trying to make the sun quit shining in his eyes... his head was pounding as he put a hand up to his forehead and winced at the obvious beginnings of a bruise. As he picked himself slowly up off the grass, he looked around and saw that he was lying/sitting at the side of the path out front of one of the seedier taverns in town. Although the wind was blowing quite a bit, the sun was shining, looked like early to mid afternoon... he winced at the sun as it inspired new lengths for the throbbing in his skull. He realized that he couldn't remember what he'd been doing right before this had happened... whatever this was.
The wind whipped by him, dragging a scarf along the dirt and down the path. He grinned at that, and then grinned even harder at the jivvin child that came chasing after it a moment later. He was outside a tavern, he'd probably made some comment that someone hadn't liked and they'd decked him... he decided that it made a good story in any case, as he checked his breath and decided that he wasn't drunk at all. So he slowly brought himself to his feet, using the sign to the tavern as a bracer. It was one of those hanging signs, pegged at the top by two points so that it swung slightly in his grasp. He decided that the sign wasn't much help and let it go.
As Roddik was brushing the grass off his pants, a pretty jivvin walked by and he straightened up with a grin. She was a Daewl with a wicked grin, and as she passed, he waved at her following her with his eyes as she walked down the path, enjoying the way the wind caught at her clothing. While he watched her, the tavern sign beside him caught at the wind, blew upwards and then came crashing back down exactly in time to connect with Roddik's head as he turned his feet towards the path.
Three minutes later, Roddik jerked his head suddenly to one side, trying to make the sun quit shining in his eyes...
(( this can be a wilds rp if anyone wants it. If not I'll use it as a Kamin prompt XD ))
