We have alot of threads talking about them individually but I'd like to see us compare them face to face to get a semi-official guild voted champ of paranormal tv!

Feel free to discuss compare and contrast what aspects we like and what one we don't like. Defend your opinion!! *pumps fists in the air*

Ghost Hunters and Ghost Hunters Int. is the reining champ, for alot of people. But they seem to be going down hill. There is alot of crew lately and it seems that they are no longer a "mom and pop" group anymore. In earlier seasons I loved how exciting it was. Creepy place, interesting back story, scary experiences. Like the time that camera man was knocked down! But lately its been more boring. The commercials try to set you up for a creepy "holy crap did that just happen?!" reaction and in the end it was something that was nothing.
Don't get me wrong its awesome that they try to disprove an experience but they kind of killed the thrill by over doing it. Later episodes, I noticed that there was less background stories and more investigating time.

Most Haunted, as I mentioned in its own thread, has not a lot of credibility in my opinion. It always seemed a little fake- especially with Derek. I have always been skeptical with psycics though especially tv ones. But this shows redeeming quality for me is the attention they give to the story behind the haunting. After a few live broadcasts they kept that historian as a full time member and she checks to make sure the new psycic is on target. And let's not forget the trademark screams and yells! I love those especially on the live episodes. But after a while they get old.
Just like Ghost Hunters has gotten a little too less thrills and chills, Most Haunted tries to overkill it.

I haven't really watched Paranormal State too much so I can't say yay or nay about it. I mean its based in my backyard! 4laugh But a half an hour seems a little too short if you ask me.

If you're not on top of the "process of elimination" tree, then I must say that my top pick is Ghost Adventures.
Each of these shows should be taken with a grain of salt but to me there's something convincing about the ENTIRE group (team and crew) being three guys. They hang around the area for a while too to get the atmosphere of the haunted location.
Hauntings are everybit an oral tradition, in my opinion. And Zak and his posse run around and interview the locals. For me that's what the other shows are lacking. Ghost Adventures has a "Supersize Me" doc feel and I love it.
Plus Zak is quite drool worthy.

So that is where my alligance lies. Springboard off of this post or go independently!

Thanks to Youtube I've finally been able to see some of these. And I like different ones for different reasons.

I like Most Haunted because well, it was the first of it's kind I ever saw (that wasn't made my collage kids for MTV xp ). So it's got a special place in my heard. I also loved hearing the ghosts stories of the place they visited.

Ghost Hunters amuses me to high heaven! I really like it but would like to heard most about the history of the place they visit in the show it's self.

Paranormal State I have a hard time taking serious. It sometimes seem to well shot. The lighting is just in the right place to make someone look really spooky and so on. But I still watch it if I find it, it's quite interesting.

I don't really have a favourite since I take these shows with a huge handful of salt. I'd much rather watch things like 'Haunted Hotels' or other shows that bounce around the world telling ghost stories of each town/city they visit.

I know it isn't real, but i LOVE X-Files. It really makes you think.
I haven't actually watched too many paranormal shows, since I rarely ever even turn the TV on, however I'm rather fond of a show called Haunting Evidence. It's on TruTV and it's a medium and i think a psychic? Im not sure. But they investigate mysteries of unsolved crimes or murders where people just dissapear(or the case has gone cold) by seeing if they can tap into the spirits thoughts and such. The 2 separate and the show shows how similar their stories are even though the 2 main people don't discuss it all all with one another. I suck at explaining, but if you've never seen an episode I suggest you watch one.
