My brother is building his own distortion pedal for his guitar and was asking me things to do with electronics. he needed a 100ohm resistor but is unable to source one due to lack of production or something like that.
In theory, you can connect two 50ohm resistors in series and it should add up to the 100ohm resisitor that he requires right? But, does this really hold in practise?
yes its true in theory but the resistors are never exactly 50 ohms for a rated 50 ohm resistor but connecting them together in series should get you something close.
