Okay in the last two DVD's you learn about the pasts of Genjyo Sanzo, Konzen, Sha Gojyo, General Kenren, Cho Hakkai, Tenpei (Tenpu, Tenpi), Son Goku, Homura, Zenon, and Shein. Not much about Shein however. During the fight with Gonou (Hakkai) he said something about Shein running away from his past. Shein was recollecting on his past, and images of Nataku arose. Now as for my question. Is Shein related to Nataku? Or was he just an older Riencarnation of him? He looked nearly the same, he didn't use the same weapon. It seemed as if Nataku was split between two people. Shein and Homura. Homura's fighting style resembled Nataku's (But so does Goku's), and Shein looks just like Nataku. However different eye colour, and of course looks aren't everything. I didn't see the DVD's for so long and I just watched them today so that is why I am asking now.

Based on the AXN subbing, Shien was just an extrememly loyal peon of Nataku.

Shien was part of the army of heaven. A lieutenant, i'd guess in ways of rank. He was supposed to support Nataku during the fights but was told to hold back by Li Touten and let the heretic do ALL of the fighting.
The events in Gaiden that took place after that, that made Nataku comatose (and haven't been explained yet by Minekura herself!!!! whee ) are why Shien regrets so heavily. And why he fell in place with Homura, when Homra replaced Nataku as the Toushin Taishi. Also why he will not stand down, or stand aside this time as the War God's aid.
Edit: And it's Tenpou for Hakkai's godly incarnation. or Ten-chan , when he wants to be cute with Goku. *grins*

On some unclear parts about Shien's connection with Nataku, the DVD Trouble in Paradise in the anime, episode 42 I think it was, it explains a bit more on Shien's devotion on Nataku.

Kanzeon Bosatsu Konzen's aunt. I think Nataku strives to live in the past because that was when he was most happy, because then he had Goku. But then the events happened and well, the three Konzen, Kenren, and Tenpou were killed and Goku was sealed. I think thats why Nataku wants to be in the past where he's with his friends.

Li Touten, Nataku's father never gave a **** about him, only to use him as power and being in the western army close to Nataku, Shien just kind of looked after him. You can see how dedicated Shien was to Nataku in the anime and how he kind of blamed himself and wondered a lot about Nataku.
