Hoyle was in the clearing, thinking to herself about various things, quite lost within her thoughts at the moment.

Humming to himself, Syd walked through the clearing, having momentarily escaped Dreville.

Hearing the sound of humming, Hoyle emerged from her thoughts to look around. Spotting Syd, she smiled and waved, "Hello Syd!"

Syd flicked an ear, seeing Hoyle. He waved back, "Oy, hullo Hoyle." He grinned and walked over to her, "How're you?"

"I'm good," replied Hoyle truthfully. She was happy with the advent of company. "How are you?"

Syd's tail swished behind him, "I'm alright." He said, "Anything interesting happen to you lately?

Hoyle shook her head, saying, "Not really. Oh, but I think that a new namir's going to be joining the family pretty soon. I guess that's pretty interesting."

"Oh, that's pretty exciting. We had a new one join ours. Well, she's not so new, but..." He decided to spare the details and not explain, and, instead, just shrugged.

"Well that's neat," Hoyle replied. She wondered what the new namir was like, but wasn't going to pry. "I wonder what ours is gonna be like."

Syd nodded, "I hope they're nicer than ours." He frowned.

"Awww, she's not too nice?" She asked sadly. She really didn't like it when namrah had to deal with those who aren't nice to them, but she knew it was a reality of life.

He shrugged, "She has her moments. I wouldn't call her mean. She's just...manipulative."

"Ah. Well, I guess everyone has those times, even if they're few and far inbetween." Hoyle had her moments too, though they were mostly times she wanted to be left to herself for a little while.

Syd nodded, "Yup. Even me."

Hoyle nodded as well. "So what's her name?"

"Dreville." He said, "She's a cute little girl."

Hoyle smiled, "That's a pretty name. I wonder what it means."

Syd tapped his chin, "I think it's her last name. And French."

"Huh, interesting." She didn't know too many namrah with last names. Actually, she didn't think any of the namrah at the house have last names. "Are last names rare in Namiah?"

"Probably because marriage is rare. I have a last name, and so does Harold. But several of the namrah I know don't have one." He said, shrugging.

"Probably. I don't think any of the namrah at our home have last names. We don't have any anthros either, come to think of it," Hoyle said with a bit of a laugh.

Syd smiled sheepishly, "Well, anthros tend to have more human qualities. But there probably are more normal namrah that have last names than we think."

Hoyle smiled, commenting back, "Interesting. I wonder if the namrah who do have last names were given them by humans."

Syd shrugged, "Probably."

Hoyle thought for a minute before saying, "I wonder when the birds are gonna come back. A few namrah at the house said that bird sing really nicely, but I never really got a chance to listen to them before." She wanted to start a new line of conversation, and thought something random would fit.

Syd sighed, "Birds are lovely. They'll come back soon, though. Spring is almost here." He frowned, "Oh, it should just get here! I want to go swimming and play around and relax in the sun, it's too cold, though."

Hoyle nodded, "Me too! I can't wait to see what Spring is like."

Syd looked like a happy schoolgirl with a crush as he thought of the spring, "It's lovely. The flowers, the birds." He smirked, "And you know, love is in the air in spring."

"Love? I wonder if I'll find some love in Spring," commented Hoyle happily. She hoped so, though she didn't count on it. But you never know. "You have someone, right?" She wasn't sure, but she seemed to think that he did.

"You never know." Syd beamed, and wiggled his fingers, showing off his wedding ring, "Yus, I do."

"Awww, that's really nice," replied Hoyle with a smile. "What's it like being married?"

Syd blinked, "It's not much different than living with your boyfriend or girlfriend." He shrugged, "You've just got a ring and a different title. Instead of boyfriend, he's my husband."

"Well, true. But what's it like having someone?" Hoyle didn't really think it would be much different, though the idea of marrriage was always romantic to her.

He thought for a moment, "When you've been alone for so long, and someone suddenly says, 'I love you', it's...nice." He sighed, "I can't explain it."

Hoyle nodded, understanding how hard it must be to describe how it feels. "It sounds nice." She wished that she could experience the same kind of thing, hoping that it's soon but knowing that she'll want it to be with the right person.

Syd nodded, "You'll have someone one day. Everyone ends up with one."

Hoyle smiled, replying, "Thanks."

Syd smirked, "And, it'll happen before you know it."

Hoyle laughed, adding, "I'll trust you on that one."

Syd blushed, "Yeah, I met my husband only a week after I came...granted...I didn't really meet him." He grinned, sheepishly, "I just sort of stared at him while he talked to some lady in a bar."

"Interesting...there's a bar in Namiah?" Hoyle's ears perked at the idea. She never knew of a bar in Namiah before.

Syd nodded, "Yup. I haven't gone in a long time, I'm not sure if it's still there."

Hoyle laughed a bit, "Oh well. At least now I can't get a bad habit."

Syd nodded, "That's a good mindset."

Hoyle nods, saying, "It'd be nice to try it once though. Just to know what it's like." She knew that logic didn't apply to everything though.

Syd nodded, "You gotta be...careful, though.."

Hoyle nodded, "I know. It doesn't apply to everything, and sometimes that can get you in trouble if you apply it to the wrong things."

Syd nodded, "Of course." His tail swished about, somewhat nervously, "I know it all too well."
