For once the young brown colored male wasn't running, a first in perhaps a while. It distrupted his everyday routines but he wanted the early morning time to think about things. Running always helped him clear his mind and walking, well it allowed him to think about things. One thought that currently occupied his mind was of his best friend. Otea. He absolutely adored spending time with her and whenever he saw her, well he couldn't help but be happy. It was something he had never felt before and well, he wasn't sure what to think of it.
He knew he liked the girl but he wasn't entirely sure just how he liked her.
Heaving a sigh he shook his head. There was so much to think about and really so little time.
Otea was finally able to go off on her own, as long as she promised her parents she’d be back before the backyard stars made their appearance. Judging by the sun’s current position, the female had a while until night would fall upon the land. She’d figure she would use this time to spend with Inikasa, where ever he might be. Usually he ran past her den in the afternoon, but as it was slightly earlier than that, she would follow his running path to his own den. You could already see little ruts in the ground from the trail he used (at least, she thought those were his trails. It would be pretty convenient if they were.)
Luckily, they were. She spotted the brown male, getting bigger every time she saw him. Her small form was just that, Soon, Ini would tower her four times. Maybe Otea would just stay this small forever. She gonked at the thought. The cub would definitely have to ask her mom or dad when she got home today when she too would be as big as Ini or even themselves.
”Innnnnnni,” she crooned, bouncing happily over to the male.

Speak of the devil, the very person that consumed his thoughts had found him. A smile broke out across his maw at the sound of her voice. He turned looking upon her smaller form with a chuckle. "Hey Otea." He chirped happily as he stopped walking and took a seat waiting for her to bound towards him. "Am I getting bigger or are you shrinking?" He teased reaching out a paw to place it on the top of her head. He was wondering if she'd ever catch up with him, he always seemed to be growing, rather quickly it seemed, how long before he actually stopped?
"How are things?"
He asked dropping his paw as he studied her expression, her appearance. Everything about her.
“I think I am shrinking.” Otea grinned. “Soon, I’ll be as tiny as an ant. You better make sure you don’t step on me when that happens, or else I’ll be sad!” The cub joked, giving a sideways smile when he put a paw on her head. So big…Inwardly, she would sigh, wanting to be as tall and fast as Inikasa, perhaps she would one day. Oh well… In her dreams, Otea and Ini were always cubs, playing together as if day was forever. She never had to go inside to her family, she just spent it with her best friend..
“Oh you know, a little of this. Hey! Guess what!” She moved the front of her body towards the ground, wriggling her bum in the air. “Mom and dad are letting me stay out until the ground stars come out! That means you are stuck with me until night fall!” She giggled. Her smile would fade quickly if Ini had said afterwards he couldn’t play today. Otea would be sad, very very sad.
Her blue eyes filtered towards his, bringing a paw to her ‘messed up’ forelock from Ini’s paw.

"I'll just capture you and take you to a place where no one can even come close to stepping on you Otea." Ini told her continuing to play along with her little game. "Maybe I'll start shrinking too." He laughed lightly as he shook his head. It was a silly thought, him shrinking when he knew he was still getting bigger. She catch up, mostly, she'd still be smaller than him but he was sure that one day she'd catch up with him.
When she asked him she tilted his head. "What?" Then she answered and he could feel his smile brighten. "Really? That's great!" He couldn't help but feel the excitement bubbling through him. They never got to spend too much time together and now that he practically had the whole day to play with her he couldn't help but be happy. "Well good."
Hmm…what should that do today then? Otea didn’t know much of the world from her den and the land just behind her home. She wanted to go on an adventure, one that would be new to her and Ini. “What should we do today?” the pale female asked, looking around. For such a large pride, these two seemed to be the only ones around, well…apart from in the distance where she could do the shapes of lions moving against the horizon.
A thought crossed her mind. “I heard these other lions talking the other day, just near the waterhole next to my home. They mentioned this place that was always casted in shadow. They called it…Oh…” what was the name of the land just south of the Pridelands? “A…graveyard?” She didn’t know what a grave was, but she did know yard. Yard meant more play space!
“We should go there!”
