Does anyone here walk around their local mall and say, go into random stores and find a thousand things that can be considered lolita? I'm sure many of these things aren't actually lolita inspired, but they're just so cute that they make you think of Japanese fashion immediately!
Yes! Not a thousand, but there are lots of gorgeous clothes that are ALMOST lolita clothes. I spend all my time hunting out the few items that DO match my sense of the fashion. There aren't many, but it's really fun looking, and really nice to get a basic lolita skirt for NZ$15 from a mall store on clearance

biggrin Sometimes shops targeted at older women have the best designs for the fashion even though my friend says something like "No, you can't shop in there. That's an old lady shop."
biggrin I love the way there are so many ruffly clothes in the mainstream shops at the moment
smile Lots of my lolita clothes are from mainstream stores. The others I get from thrift stores or by making myself. I am proof that you can be into lolita fashion without spending hundreds on a dress
