What's the Big deal, I'm constantly questioned over it. I'm a Level 41 and I'm doing fine, More then fine. I'm Leveling at an exceptional rate. I never Die. I've never lost at World PvP (I've even beatin down a Frost Mage)
I know that Fury warriors level faster, But I like my shields.
And heres the funny part....I love PvP and I'm not planning on running raids at 80, and I'm not planning on respeccing.

Just level the way that makes you happy, if you're happy then other people's opinions aren't very important.

Prot warriors are really awesome at the moment, at 80, my fury warrior normally loses to prot warriors.
I'm leveling my paladin protection too, dinged 40 the other night but haven't been home to go on him since. sad

It's really not a big deal but there are people who like to butt into other's business just because they won't do what that person is doing. Like previously stated, level the way you wish. So long as you're enjoying the game, you're getting your money's worth. Who gives a s**t about haters anyways? xp
I mean, prior to the changes with ret pallies, people always (maybe not always but most of the time) put them down because they thought that pallies should either be heals or tanks. People will always talk s**t about other people's choice. Just ignore them.

yeah, i level prot too. but after 58. fury is just better at the earlier levels, and prot gets better the more prot-centric gear you acquire (which there is plenty of in outlands) and the higher level you get. Still, prot is still sorta viable even at low levels, and the survivability is pretty worth it if you don't mind being slower at killing things.

The Mule Of Max IVIetaKnight So you're going to pvp as prot? it's actually pretty fun. maybe not in wotlk, but it was in tbc. Even in LK it's pretty fun. Just throw on pvp gear. It's fun being a brick wall with three different abilities that stun (four if yer a tauren). Damage Shield is invaluable against rogues. When they try to stunlock you, they're pretty much killing themselves. Spellreflect is also really nice.... As far as leveling goes, it's really not that bad to level as prot so long as you're using dps gear. Even without the defense and mitigation, you still have a lot higher survivability than an arms or fury warrior.
