Basic Statistics

Name: Carbrey Brown (nickname: Cal )
Age: 17
Nationality: Irish
Hometown: Tralee, Ireland
Current Residence: Higashi district, Shibuya Ward, Tokyo
Occupation: Aspiring Photographer
Talents/Skills: On top of being a rather decent photographer for his age, Carbrey also has a smattering of martial arts skills, though he never achieved black belt, due to his family's constant moving from place to place. Carbrey is also rather good at reading people, a talent that he'd really rather not have.
Birth order: Second of two
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Siblings: A sister - Emma, now off and married somewhere in the European union. She's his elder by four years, and they were never close, Emma considering Carbrey more of a bratling than anything else, trying to ditch her tag-along brother whenever possible as they were growing up.
Parents: Rodrey- Father, an architect now working in Tokyo. He's an established, well-known face in the business, and his work is in high demand. Thus, whenever a good job opportunity comes up, the family is displaced, something that Carbrey resents him for. Rodrey tries to be a good father, but is married more to his work than to his family. A pleasant, amiable man with all the wrong priorities. Usually leaves Carbrey to fend for himself, save to give his son an almost never-ending stream of funding, thus sating any tugs on his conscience.
Erin - Mother, Deceased, died when Carbrey was eight, thus starting the family's constant moving, as there was no one to stay home with the children. Carbrey barely remembers her, save that she was kind, nurturing, had long red hair just his color, and sang the sweetest lullabies.
Relationship skills: Not so great. Carbrey is a bit awkward when it comes to social situations, and though he reads into people, he attempts not to, which makes him clumsy. He doesn't know about you, and doesn't want you to know about him. He's a good friend if he knows you, loyal and steadfast and perhaps a mite clingy almost to the point of possessiveness. (Somebody's got loss issuuuues~ *sings* )
Carbrey's personality resembles a fortress, walls high around the outside, but if you can breach them, then you'll find a rather normal teenager on the inside, wondering whom in life he can trust.
Physical Characteristics:
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 148 lbs.
Race: Scotch/Irish
Eye Color: A pretty, stereotypical green.
Hair : A deep red. (He's not a carrot. xD ) Carbrey wears it in a high, loose ponytail, has bangs that part off-center and longer strands that fall to either side, framing his face.
Glasses or contact lenses?: Only very weak reading glasses, he doesn't usually wear them if he can at all help it.
Skin color: Pale, with freckling on the back of his arms and shoulders. (it appears nowhere else)
Distinguishing features: Carbrey is always carrying a camera, and generally wears his hair in a high, loose ponytail, from the back, he's oft mistaken for a girl. He's fairly tall, and outstandingly foreign. He's also got piercings, one in his left eyebrow, and one in each ear. He generally, boredly, sticks safety pins through them.
How does he/she dress: Dark colors, primarily. Often he'll go for sleeveless shirts, something that doesn't quite cling to his body, but enough to show that there's a capable body lurking beneath. His pants are usually slightly loose, but of the sort he can tuck into his boots, which he's always wearing boots of some kind. Carbrey has little to no fashion sense, and doesn't really care. He also wears hand wraps, a practice he adopted from his first sensei.
Mannerisms: Carbrey is quiet, but curious about the world and the people in it. You can often catch him getting snapshots of just about anything and everything. He's a thinker, often forgetting where he is and standing for moments at a time just staring into space. His default expression towards others tends to be just short of a glare as a defense against those who would approach him.
Habits: When he's nervous, he'll chew on his lower lip, something that his sister also did, and he picked up from her on default. When something really and truly unsettles him, he'll run fingers through his hair, or take his hair down entirely and then put it back up in a ponytail. When talking to someone, he'll usually fiddle with his camera almost the entire time, unless they really have something interesting to say.
Health: Normal, fairly standard.
Hobbies: Photography, Martial arts. Carbrey has never taken photography lessons, choosing instead to learn from scratch, and as his father is always buying him bigger and better cameras, he has no reason not to pursue his hobby. The redhead is also a sometime student of Tae Kwon Do and karate, both of which he continues when he has the time, so long as he can find a dojo that doesn't irritate him instantaneously.
Carbrey is also intensely fascinated with the weapons forms of martial arts, choosing to work with the bō staff, and nunchaku primarily, though one of his teachers began to work with him to master the three-sectioned staff as well.
His mother tried to get him into sports as a child, and for a while he played European Football, but he was small, almost scrawny as a kid, and ever-clumsy, so he generally wound up skipping practices even though he enjoyed the game. He still watches matches from time to time.
Another of his favorite past times is reading. Books have often been his sole companions, and he's partially responsible for his family's extensive library, always picking up a new book or three on his ventures into town.
Favorite Sayings: "If I'd wanted to know, I would have asked." generally strategically inserted when someone is talking too much. "If you could see what I see, perhaps you would speak less." Generally talking about his photography...though, these days....
Vernacular: He speaks English, French, and is rapidly adapting to Japanese, learning to speak it more fluently with each passing day. Listening, rather than practicing.
Disabilities: None.
Style (Elegant, shabby etc.): Eccentric, virtually nonexistent
Intellectual/Mental/Personality Attributes and Attitudes
Educational Background: Primarily public schools, flitting from place to place, and he's gotten himself in trouble in more than one of them. He isn't a bad student, but those things he simply doesn't care for, such as math, science, and speech. (he's never passed speech)
How does the Character see himself/herself? Carbrey is confident in his skills, but not in himself. He sees himself as a shattered individual, someone that doesn't need to be cared for, as he's perfectly self-reliant. He doesn't need people, and they don't need him.
How does the Character believe he/she is perceived? He tries not to think about that too much. He believes the entire world sees him as a standoffish oddball with too much time on his hands.
How self-confident is the character? Personality-wise, he's not remotely self-confident, a dismal failure who believes that he has little to nothing to offer the world. Skills-wise, he knows he's good...but believes that those skills have no use save for his own personal satisfaction.
Does the character seem ruled by emotion or logic or some combination thereof? Primarily emotion. As much as he'd like to deny it, Carbrey is almost a solely emotion-driven person.
What would most embarrass this character? Praise, of any form and any sort, directed to himself or his work. Also, Carbrey is a gentleman at heart, as much as he'd hate to admit it, and attention from someone he considers attractive would only compound his embarrassment tenfold.
Greatest flaw(s): Carbrey has shut the world out. He only believes what he can see, smell, touch and know for himself. He'll never believe anything by word alone, and always wants to discover things on his lonesome. Too stubborn and prideful to ask for help, he deals with his personal problems by withdrawing.
Best quality(ies): Carbrey is a defender to the end. If he really and truly believes he's needed, you'll never get rid of him. In reality, he's a very kind person, he simply rarely sees the world around him as something deserving of kindness, but if someone falls, he'll pick them up.
You couldn't ask for a better friend. He'll be there whenever you need him, and ask little in return. He'll be an emotional rapport even when he truly isn't capable of being so, having an almost sacrificial view of how the world works in relation to himself.
Emotional Characteristics
Introvert or Extrovert? Introvert. Very. He wants to talk about his problems, but is too afraid to, doesn't trust, a chronic bottler.
How does the character deal with anger? Physical action, or staunch silence.
With sadness? He doesn't. When sad, he looks for something to blame, someone to get angry at, most times that's himself.
With conflict? One of two ways, either by facing it head-on, or withdrawing from it if such can be done with grace and honor.
With change? Hates it with a passion, withdraws from it, doesn't want to deal with it if at all humanly possible, soaks himself in the familiar to soften the blow.
With loss? Finds some way to cope, generally with an action that feels like he's avenged the loss, if not, he generally just tends to hole up someplace and cry alone.
What does the character want out of life? To trust and to be trusted, something he isn't very good at. He wants to be the best at everything that he attempts, to achieve personal satisfaction, and to truly be happy with himself.
What would the character like to change in his/her life? Most everything. Carbrey wishes he was outgoing, popular, and truly confident in himself. He desires friends, friends that he could trust without fear of betrayal, and most of all, he searches for purpose.
What motivates this character? Personal fears, honor, a cause, curiosity. All of those things take many shapes and forms in his life, and can cause him to act radically, regardless of his hesitancy towards change.
What frightens this character? Negative changes, moving to a new home, loss, close personal encounters. Carbrey, however, generally feigns indifference when faced with such things, hiding behind the walls he's erected.
What makes this character happy? His hobbies, mostly, that and spending real, quality time with the people he cares about. Currently, that's only his father.
Is the character judgmental of others? Yes. He considers people, as a whole, untrustworthy.
Is the character generous or stingy? Generous, but appears stingy at first glance.
Is the character generally polite or rude? Rude. He's polite if you get past the rudeness barrier, but on first meeting, he'll be curt and almost offensive just to get you off his back.

-The now, the new, the secret~
What is the domain is your character most likely to belong to? Soul
What is the domain is your character least likely to belong to? Light
What is the element is your character most likely to belong to? Illusion
What is the element is your character least likely to belong to? Steel
What is their weapon? A bō staff
Is there a reason behind the choice of weapon? It's what he's used to, what he loves. Close-combat fighting is something that he's enthralled by, it makes him feel alive, and the bō staff feels at home in his hands.
In the real world what does the weapon transform into? His camera.
Exalted form idea: Black wolf or a kirin. I'm debating a bit.
