The list's achievements must meet the following criteria to be considered:

a) They must not be too difficult. This may seem to be breaking the spirit of the list, but allow me to explain. Achievements that have been accomplished by 1 or 2 people, ever, will not be considered. Gamers who put in enough dedication should be able to succeed. Example: Achieving a victory of Nethack with 12 conducts. 1 person that I know of has ever achieved this in all the years Nethack has been alive. This is too difficult.

b) They must not be too easy. An achievement should require a large investiture of both time, and skill. Keep in mind that purely skill-based achievements are not excluded as long as it takes TIME to develop that skill. Example: Defeating a version of Ninja Gaiden on Master Ninja would be acceptable. I could probably find someone on the internet who could achieve it in 3 days: but he probably took months to gain the skill and memorisation of the enemies to do so. Example 2: Reaching level 150 on MapleStory. This requires a very large investiture of time, but not a large amount of skill. It does not match the criteria.

c) They must not be too luck based. As a barometer, if somebody is able to complete an achievement on the list once, they should be able to do it again. Then again. Then, they should be able to consistently do it. If you have completed an achievement 10 times and are still relying on everything going your way, it's too luck based. Keep in mind that luck based means requiring good luck, not being impervious to bad luck. Example: Defeating Nethack. In Nethack, there are a number of instant deaths which are usually avoidable if you know the secret, but occasionally the dice turn against you, and there's nothing you can do. On the other hand, an experienced Nethack ascender can take an average run and always ascend with it. This is an acceptable achievement. Example 2: Gaining the Ashes of Al'ar mount on World of Warcraft. While it requires skill and time to reach the level of raiding that allows you to defeat Al'ar consistently, the item has a very low drop rate. Unless you are massively lucky, it is too hard. Skill alone will not get you the achievement. This is not acceptable for the list.

d) They cannot be grinds, even skill-based ones. Once you have reached the required level of skill for the achievement, it should not take a very large amount of time or repetitiveness to complete the achievement. Example: Defeating Linley's Dungeon Crawl with every class. This requires you to beat the game about 20 times. It becomes very repetitive after the third or fourth victory. Example 2: Collecting 100 Golden Skulltulas in Ocarina of Time. While this achievement requires what can be classed as repetitive actions, (collecting Skulltulas), it consistently takes you to new areas of the game world. This is acceptable.
