Well, I think it will continue to go down. I really think something big needs to happen for the "blood" clot of unpaid credit cards to burst open and flow. New jobs would be nice too. America needs to go into a "green" revolution. With that, people will take up those jobs and we could use the homeless to pick up the trash in parks and give them temporary housing until they find a job within their 120 days residence. Anyone got a good opinion? Make sure to keep flaming to a minimum.

The economy is ********. The stimulus plan has so many pointless things they're wasting money on that doesn't even help America. It's not beyond repair but with the government officials the way they are? Yeah, it's definately just going to go down the whole even worse.

My father very recently got laid off from work at JPL (Jet Propulsion Laboratory) in Pasadena. He was a victim of a massive hiring freeze, one of the hundreds-- if not thousands-- of workers who were laid off (JPL is practically a city, the facility is so huge). The thing about JPL, though, is that even though it is used mostly for projects for space, one idea is that it could be re-purposed for more endeavors here on Earth. The government funding that JPL receives so that it may do its projects could be better used for exploring "green" technologies. At the same time, more workers could be supported and paid, because researching and developing green technology would be a heck of a lot less expensive than working on technology meant for space.
And to Casey Cuppycake, what are you actually talking about? The idea of the stimulus plan to keep very important businesses afloat, thus keeping the economy from going completely under, into a depression. And what "way" are these "government officials"? I'd like to know who and what you're actually referring to.

I don't think it will get better, unless someone actually makes an actual change for the better, rather than make more money for me.

Can someone with a economics degree post please?
The stimilus was intended to help producers produce, so consumers can have money to buy what they produce.
Thw money was sent to the right place, but how that money was used was wrong entirely.
